Hi all.

As some of you will know, I`ve been playing Omaha 8 for a while now.

I play a few rebuys and something has struck me here.

A lot of the guys seem to be happy limping preflop with most holdings and they seem to do well with it.

I don`t think this would work as well playing NLHE, but with so many variations on the flop playing Omaha hi lo pot limit it seems like a possibile option.

Any thoughts guys?

I only play on pokerstars so i wouldn't know if they have this format online anywhere else but it is by far my all time favorite to play. I love the 4 player format in that you won't have a bunch of limpers in 8 way pots with marginal hands drawing to the nuts after the flop and it gives good omaha8 players a chance to shine against weaker players with effective bluffs, pot takedowns, and a lot of heads up opportunities where if you hit a piece of the flop, more times than not your hand will be good which wouldn't be the case in a 9 handed tournament with 7 limpers pre-flop. My second favorite is the 9:30 pm $8.80 PLO 4 player max that happens an hour before the $4.44 PLO8.

I have played in the 4.44$ PLO8 eight times in total and cashed:
2nd place for 191$
3rd place for 160$

I have played in the 8.80$ PLO 10 times in total and cashed:
4th place for $106
5th place for $134
25th place for $13

I have really enjoyed the success I've had at these tourneys as a novice omaha player who is running good and would like to keep learning how to become even better. It's great fun for a lot of omaha players and i really like the format, blind increases are also at 10 mins which feels like just the right pace to keep the action going good and a lot of opportunities for pot takedowns against more cautious players. Definitely check it out jpknecht, you won't be disappointed.
