3 broadway cards with one trash card, if I can see the flop
cheap I will play them but only in late position, but any hand
with a dangler is usually poor value
double suited connectors I will always play in position but beware cos
with them being low even if you hit your flush it is in danger of being
beaten by a bigger flush, and in my experience if you have a flush,
apart from the Ace flush be very careful cos if you have the King flush most times someone will have the Ace flush and this can be very expensive I think Omaha players
lose more money with a non-nut flush than any other hand(apart from pocket aces)
If you hit the straight make sure you dont hit the idiot end of
the straight i.e you have 456 and the flop is A 10 7 8 it is
deadly, even if you have 456 and 37 comes out be careful again cos
a player with 78 has you in serious trouble
AAAx, dump it, you are just wasting your money playing it, if the
Ax is suited and you can see a cheap flop maybe just maybe think about playing it, and then dump it
some players prefer playing 4568 to 4567 but I will play either, with
caution
PLO is such a complicated game, I am sure another player will tell you
something completely different but this is the way I would play them
but a lot depends on the table you are playing on, and of course on
a 5 or 6 player table you would play all the above hands(apart from AAAx) with a lot more confidence than on a 9-10 player table
But to sum up you really should be very selective in the starting hands
you play in PLO because the texture of the board changes so much with
every card and you need the most help you can get from your hole cards
hope this helps you a bit
