I've recently been making an effort to broaden my horizons a little bit, playing other games other than Texas Holdem. Is anyone versed pretty well in Omaha Hi that has any pointers?

Well usually want to play double suited cards or connectors or even double pairs. Just be patient though.

I'm pretty new to Omaha as well. You pretty much are only going to win with the nuts. A winning hand at a 9 table omaha game is probably going to be a 3 of a kind or better. Usually it will be a flush, fh or strt. So basically you are fighting for pots with these types of hands. The part I find hard is playing preflop and choosing the hands to play.

IN Omaha, I have found that whatever can happen, usually does happen. If you don't got the nuts, or are damn close to the nuts, tread lightly.

dont draw to lose.

if the board is paired, dont chase flushes. that kind of stuff.

I took a break from sit n go and play nothing bot 1c/2c PLO for about 6 months. I know that sounds terrible, but it was actually profitable and I had a good time. There was a group that used to play almost every night on UB.

Stay away from Limit Omaha high, it is evil.
