I get into trouble sometimes when drawing to straight when there are flush draws out there. Should you only draw to certain suits that avoid flush possibilities or how do you draw without getting into trouble?

correction: in omaha, if its not the nuts (period) just let it go..

lol but seriously, when i'm open ended and theres a flush draw out, i still try to get to the next card just to try and catch it...obviously if its too expensive then i ditch it altogether before getting too invested in the hand, but if you can catch the straight and the flush doesnt hit then you're pretty much golden...and if the flush does hit you should b able to get away from the hand if it feels like the person hit it

I rarely chase an open ender... they're awful in Omaha. 8 outs? pffft.. i'd rather have a massive wrap for 20 outs.
Flushes give a lot of equity in Omaha though so don't go too crazy over a straight draw if the flop offers two suited cards.

Even worse when as mentioned in the OP there are flush draws too - making 2 of the 8 outs possibly worthless.

how does one ten play in this hand?

his 5-card poker hand consists of the 3 tens on the board (same as yours) + the QT in his hand (where you use KK). his final hand is TTTTQ, yours is TTTKK, it should be fairly obvious which one is better.

i'd think you do not want to play shallow omaha tables, btw. what is the point?

You can't play with a 71c stack and not raise that hand pre.

Quads always seem to confuse noobs to omaha, yes you need to use 2 of your holecards, but this doesnt mean that you can't have quads when theres 3 of one card on the board though! He could have used his T and any of the other 3 cards to make his 5 card hand.

id have folded when the third ten hit, hidden quads are a danger in PLO.

If I flop a str8 draw (gutshot or open) and there are two cards of the same suit, its hard for me to continue in that hand. It also depends if it is a Multi-way pot or heads up. Heads up I will stay in for cheap, but Multi-way I fold all day long. 3 or more players in a hand with a flush draw out there, someone is bound to hit their flush........just my opinion.....

Do not draw to straights if there is a flush draw, or if there is a pair out on the board.
