Hello everybody, i'm new to poker yet yesterday i made it to the final table at a mansion omaha freeroll. I was second in chips, the chipleader moved all in preflop. I had QJs109s(spades and diamonds).
I called he had a pair of aces and made his set.
Should i always fold with this hand when someone goes all in or not ?

First off, How did the chip leader move all in preflop playing a limit style game? Kind of hard to imagine that the raises, reraises and calls were high enough to reach his total stack unless it was fairly early in a freeroll and the wagering went around the table a few times before the flop.

What you had is an ok starting hand with light action preflop with a lot of post flop potential but I sure wouldn't have risked it all with Q high preflop esp. with the potential of so many others being in the hand (as per all the players betting it would take in Omaha to let the chip leader push all in preflop). You're far better to hang tight for a nicer hand to take such a risk.

Your double-suited rundown is a pretty nice hand with lots of drawing potential.

However, in PLO at low limits, a big preflop re-raise very often says Pocket Aces, and therefore you are in big trouble if you call and don`t hit. Worse, some of your outs may be counterfeit, if villain has a suited Ace in one of your suits.

It`s a big risk with your tournament life to call that one. In general, if you are second in chips, target the short stacks and avoid confronting the chip leader unless you have a monster. This is not that hand, IMO.

At Mansion the Omaha freeroll is 'no-limit Omaha hi'.
He moved all in the rest of the table folded, if I made my hand I would have been a strong favourite to win the tourney.
But you're right, when I think about it I had a strong drawing hand but nothing concrete. Ty for the reply.

Interesting, just about everywhere else both hi and hi/low Omaha is a limit game.

Caught a heck of a suck in the game a not long ago, betting had been enough for the villian to push all in on the turn and you know I had to call. I had Kings over Tens full and had him on a set or straight judging from his previous play. Got lucky bigtime one the river to win quad K's over quads 10's. Goes to show how easy it is to run into a monster while playing Omaha. I finished 5th of around 700 in this game.

btw. There was only a small bet preflop, min raise on the flop (not a good board for a set of k's to call much more), and raise-reraise etc. after the turn making villian able to push all in with his quads. The screen shot doesn't show betting actions for each street of the hand.

lol That's sick you busted his 4 tens with a 4th K, poker can be so cruel sometimes.
And you're right everywhere else omaha is a limit game, Mansion is the only place where I found no-limit omaha, not that I was looking for it but it's pretty fun though.

Hey, he caught the case Ten on me...turn about's fair play! (even a blind chicken gets a worm once in a while)

Now why can't I be him when playing a bad beat table/site????? Had quad T's beat by Q's in nlhe once, moments after I switched rooms to site without a bad beat jackpot:( Pocket T's flop QTT called villians all in only to see a river Q for his pocket Ladies.

The pot odds are pretty important in this decision, but since you were 1st and 2nd in chips, I'm guessing they were pretty close to 1:1. If that's the case, I'd fold. That's a hand to see a flop with and push after you hit something or call a preflop all-in if you have good pot odds.

What? I've seen this guy bully play weak stuff to often and I wasn't folding a full house Kings over Tens since I can only put him on trip Tens when he raised then reraised all in on the turn. All of the betting took place on the turn card, raise, reraise then his all in I called. No way I could put him on quads because of his lag style.

Think about it...you hit a monster boat, villians shoving all the time with pairs, 2 pair, draws or just high card and showing his hole cards each hand. Are you going to muck a K high Boat against him? I think not.

lol, you can't fold kings full of tens, thats just one of those coolers, the only way you could save your money if they had quads is to call down. good to see a fellow pokertime player, anything to do with omaha on that site you'll see me. I'm slowly trying to get back into tournament nlhe.

lol@ nl omaha, in a freeroll I don't think that was necessarily a bad move, plus on top of that nl omaha is ridiculous. If you had the chance to call or raise a raise preflop I say raise if you don't think he'll come back over top call if plenty other people are in the pot.

adventure, my user name is "young_gung" which is pretty much my name for every site I only have money accounts on microgaming network right now basically (pokertime and crazypoker) committed to pokertime right now until I decide to move cus thats where my main microgaming account is at.

I play the .25/.50 PLO and I'll be moving up to .50/1 PLO fairly soon (I'm ready now but gonna manage the bankroll good first). I'm trying to get back into hold'em cus I haven't played a hold'em cash game in at least a year, right now I'm just on hold em tourneys and omaha cash game only. You check the .25/.50 tables I'll be there at random times throughout the day. You can catch me in pretty much any freeroll randomly also, I just happened to win an omaha freeroll today (we actually split 3 ways but I had the largest stack by a couple hundred thousand when we split, I was at work and I wanted to go home).

Imma see if I can friend request you so I'll holla
