Thoughts have always been TAG. But ive just hit 24k hands and im -$28.73 overall and im starting to get frustrated. At around 21k hands id just made it back into the green (~+$5), having spent the vast majority of in the red, but then took a few hits and ive been pretty much stuck at around $15-$30 down overall for the last 3k or so.

I dont know if TAG is the best style for me, because the suckouts people put on me really frustrate me and they happen a lot lol! im also prone to get impatient and always play 3+ tables. Notably last session I flopped top two pair twice and lost both. One to runner runner full house (yes the guy called with bottom pair on the flop...) and the other I kinda knew villain had an overpair as she 3-bet me pre and I had a read, so I shoved her in on the flop and she hit trips on the river. I went kinda tilted and loosened up (probably way too much) but I didnt even do badly, actually made a BI back. The table just thought I was an idiot and called me with rags which makes me think LAG can be hugely profitable, even thought its a very hard style to master.

So NIT or playing looser might be better for me. NIT might reduce the bad beats or if I play looser, try to have less hands go to showdown and when I do have monsters people will call me down more.

Would be really helpful if some of you who are profiting from 5NL or even 10NL over a good sample size could give me some advice. Thanks guys

TAG......always tag for the micros......lag is not the way....being a nit could get you there but it would take longer than TAG and you would have to play more tables to make up for it being NIT...

sounds like you have leaks in your game...wouldn't really concern yourself on how you should play tbh, the micro's is pretty straight forward, playing anything other than TAG is not an option...

try posting some stats via a poker tracker and hands for analysis....find out what your leaks are and sort it out.

VPIP is fine at 23 but you have to raise more preflop. Bring your PFR to at least 17%
