i just recently discovered a play in poker that i havent been seeing that often and it absolutely works......i call it my special bait...im in a pot and i have the best hand on the river.....i played the hand like i been chasing and i am in early position and instead of flipping the script and lead out with a strong bet....i bet really small to get a bluff or a stupid raise with an inferior hand then i give a speech and raise....lol then i get called u guys should try it

Yeah thats a wicked play. I think you have to have a good read on your opponent though and know he's capable of bluffing you when you make a probe bet on the river (I sometimes even check... but missed value if he doesnt take the bait!)

Another one I use: If I'm in position against an aggressive player and I flop a monster. Lets say I have T8s and the flop comes down TT8 he checks it to me and I will bet EXACTLY HALF POT-everybody knows a half pot bet is a C bet. He calls because He's aggressive and hes going to represent a slow play and try and steal later. Anyway, he checks the turn and I check behind telling him It was just a C bet. He bets the river and obviously I raise. If the board is draw heavy I might add another bet on the turn praying he draws to a flush and hits the river.

That works against weak players...
But normally you shoudl not bet if you got nothing...
A good player will just call you or smell your "bluff"! ;)

Misdirection is one of the best tools in poker, I use it mainly in split pot games so that opponents will call with a inferior high hand for a scoop or call down with a worse low draw after I got high locked down.

In live games I do exactly opposite of what a normal player will do like being very chatty when all-in with the nuts and ocassionally telling the truth about my hands, etc.

Why not bet big like a bluff and get raised? You might not get raised as often but you will be making more money the times you do.

hahahaha gay bet....
hahahaaha...
yeah, but if you are against a good player.. he can read this easily.. just like check-raise. you check thinking about the raise he will do and he checks too...
but it's very interesting.

gaybet.

checking the best hand on the river is nearly always stupid tbh, so is putting out a small bet. In the long run you miss too much value. If you have been check calling all the way it might work against a weak player to check-raise, but against good players they will probably check back if it looks like you made the draw.

I thought it was called a tard bet, but belgo knows more than me.

Lol @ gaybet. I don't know if it'll catch on with a name like that. I always called it the stack-a-donk bet cuz it has to be a fish to really do its magic.
