Hi all,
I have been spending some time these past few months collecting all of my thoughts on poker and putting them into a book, and I think I have a fantastic result: Quantum Poker.

QP%20Cover.jpg

Quantum Poker aims to teach the underlining factors in making a decision: enumeration, combinatorics, and equity. These terms are way underused in the poker world and they are also the only things we actually need in order to make a good in-game decision. This book breaks down many of the basic and advanced concepts important to poker, including terms like: fold equity, equity distribution by street, uncertainty, mean value rectangles, and "Average Enumerated Value." This book also dives into live poker, talking about common live phrases and situations, as well as briefly outlining live tells and how to use them. While most examples are given in NLHE, Quantum Poker is uniquely designed to improve your overall decision-making process.

To get more information on the book, a sneak peek section entitled "Folding Ranges and Bet Sizing," and to learn more about me, check out the site:

And for any comments, questions, and reviews, reply here or e-mail me at derric.haynie@gmail.com. Thanks and enjoy!

Congrats on the new book! Are you going to offer an ebook version? I stopped buying physical books awhile ago.

Eventually I will get it out on e-book, it may be a month or so though.

A little bit about myself:

I have been a pro poker player for 8 years now, playing both online and live, usually around 5/10 and 10/20 NL cash, and I have extensive tournament experience as well. While NLHE is my bread and butter I have studied almost all poker variants extensively. I have been an instructor for: Cardrunners.com, PokerZion.com, and Synergypoker.ca, making tons of low to midstakes videos and power point presentations to help people better understand the game.

About the book:

The book is designed to improve each player's decision-making process by introducing them to the core factors of each decision, enumeration and combinatorics. I begin by defining or redefining some of the basic concepts, such as hand ranges, how combinatorics affects each player, and equity, and move on to more advanced concepts like equity distribution by street, Cardruners EV and EV Trees, and advanced multi-tabling strategy. These topics lay out the framework for understanding why poker is a complicated math problem with constantly changing variables.
My Fourth chapter, titled "The Unfied Theory of Poker" define's the math problem, teaches you the variables in it, and teaches you how to find these variables. This framework teaches you how to build an intuition for correct decisions while in-game, and acknowledges that the complication of the game makes it impossible to "run math" during a hand.
After thoroughly defining the basis for decision making in poker, I give some general wisdom that I have picked up through years of experience. Then I describe live poker and give examples to the difference between live poker and online, and I give a few hand history examples.

After rereading the book I found the most complicated chapter to be very complex even for myself. I would not call this a "beginner" book; if you don't understand the fundamentals of poker already, you should get more experience and perhaps watch a few instructional videos/series before diving into this book.

I have announced that I caught a few editing errors in the book, nothing serious just some minor mistakes that I am correcting and I will come out with a new revision soon to correct these errors. I am not an author and I didn't get a book deal for this or anything like this, I am just a guy who has a lot of really important information that I want to share with the community. And I think that $1300 for a book is a joke (it may technically be worth spending the money but its still an outrageously high selling price), especially now with all the information out there in the community.

Don't be afraid of math, embrace it and all the profit it has to offer you. To quote a friend of mine, "If I can help you solve one leak in your game, that may make you an extra $20/hr." Even at the small stakes if that means a $1/hr leak solution, it would only take 50 hours to recoup the cost of the book.

I have put the Kindle and iPad versions up on my site, and they are only $39.99. It's a little bit of a jumbled mess right now on the Quantum Poker page, so many sales options so little space. I am hiring someone to fix up the page and make it look more professional this weekend. But for now, at least you can buy it in Kindle and iPad format! This is a new process for me so let me know if there are any bugs or issues with getting your copy.

Thanks and enjoy!

Great news! I plan to purchase, but when I click on the Daily Variance ebook purchase link, the price seems to be $49.99? Is there another ebook link I'm overlooking?
