I want to start using agression factor on my hud. I don't use it b/c i don't know how to analyze the number. I was wondering if somebody can help me..

1) What's exactly should i use it for?

2)Is it more for pre flop or post flop play(or both)?

3. What's a good sample size?

4) What other stats do you use it with?

5)Can you give me a range of tight and aggressive players?

Any extra info you would like to add would be awesome!
Thanks for the help! I can't wait
to add aggression factor to my arsenal

The higher the number, the more aggressive players are.

2)Is it more for pre flop or post flop play(or both)?
Postflop.

3. What's a good sample size?
More hands? Honestly, it really depends on their VPIP. A guy playing 100% of his hands is going postflop a lot, so he'll have plenty of opportunities to make postflop actions in say, 20 hands. But a guy with a 10% VPIP will probably need at least 100 hands before you get a clue what he's like postflop.

4) What other stats do you use it with?
VPIP. If a player's VPIP is 100%, and his AF is 2.0, he's abso****inglutely crazy batshit aggressive. If a player's AF is 2.5, and his VPIP is 8%, then he's actually pretty passive, given the strength of his holdings.

5)Can you give me a range of tight and aggressive players?
No, because it will depend on your VPIP.

Any extra info you would like to add would be awesome!
I prefer AFq (Aggression Frequency). It converges faster, and is a more meaningful number.

Also, HUD stats are over rated. If you're playing stakes lower than 25NL, I'd suggest not even using a HUD. And if you're playing SnG's, a HUD is also pretty useless, since players will be shifting gears because the blinds are rising. Don't lean on your HUD so much. Improve your playing skills, make notes at the table, and use your tracking software to expose leaks in your (and your opponent's) games away from the table.

Thank you for the reply... You said you prefer AFq because it converges faster. So how do you interpret AFq%?

Thanks for the help!!

I disagree here. I play strictly SnG's and would be lost without my HUD. Of course it's better suited for cash games, but with the right set up it can be used effectively in SnG's.

My set up is

Hands/Steal/Limp
VPIP/PFR/AggF/3bet
BB's

The more tables you play, the more effective it gets as well. I can spend much less time per hand due to my HUD than I could if I was just freeballing it. Plus, it's easier to spot multi-tablers as well so you can see who you need to check out.

I have to disagree too. I switched to Rush Poker when FTP has the bonus week a month ago. I didn't have a HUD and regular ABC poker earned me a measley .25 or so an hour for my first couple Rush weeks. After upgrading from PT2 to PT3 and getting a working HUD for Rush poker my $/hr went screaming up to almost $2/hr and it's still going up.

I have to disagree here too. You should be able to configure your HUD to display stats based on the number of players at the table and even the blind level. The combination that works best for you might differ from mine, play around with what you display and under what conditions and see what matches you style of play the best.
