I'd like to discuss playing 7 2

Me personally allways limp in with it if i can,

1. its amazing often is actually comes up 72 on the flop
2. when it actually does come up, who is going to suspect you are going to play the statiscaly worst hand in poker?

Now tell me honestly is this 7 2 fetish just affecting me? or does anyone else have the bug?

it kind of feels good to play with 7-2 and win and i limp if i can. But it's not the worst hand in hold'em for nothing.

when you win big with it it fells good, but i wouldnt suggest playing this hand a lot, it could get you in a heap of trouble at the table.

In David Sklansky's book, The Theory of Poker, he had a section on randomizing your bluffs. He said that instead of trying to figure out when you should bluff, just select a hand ahead of time and anytime you recieve that hand you make a bluff with it.

Ironically, the hand that I chose was 72 suited. Because I already have it programmed in my head that I'm going to play this hand, I always play it like it's a pair of aces. I usually raise preflop, and then bet on the flop no matter what comes out. If someone calls my raise and my bet I usually slow down on the turn and don't risk anymore $ in the pot. This strategy helps me not look too tight when I'm at the table.

I like the idea of picking out a hand ahead of time and playing it like you got aces. Thats an intersting strategy

I have the bug to

I always want to play it (although sometimes my vetter senses prevail and I lay it down) when I do play it tho I like to bet it like I have a monster and hopr no one makes a hand on the flop and buy a pot. Then I occasionally show it. It drives players nuts.

7-2 is always fine to limp in when the blinds are really small and may a little bit higher but only if they are suited other then that they are pretty bad to play with.

i usually play the 7-2 only if its suited but when i do play it i usually play it strong with a greg raymer approach of bet big on every card turned to try and show that i got the nuts.

I've been doing this for years in live games as well as online. I just decide in advance that the next hand is the one and play it like I've got the nuts. Don't win the majority of them but it keeps the table a bit off balance.

7 2

I play the 7 2 if i can limp but it never hits.....its a catch 22 ....it only hits on the flop after you fold which is the correct call......you must always just accept that some flops are gonna create hind site ......leave it alone and play the odds

There are few hands I always play, and no hands I never play, including 7-2. I don't know about you people who feel that some hands possess some sort of Karma. Poker is all about statistics and reading the table, and statistically, 7-2 sucks.

Limping in otherwise never

I wont call a 2c bet with 7 2, unless its suited clubs. Then I will raise. If its diamonds, I normally check, hearts most of the time I will go all in. If its offsuit, well thats just a silly stupid play. Im being sarcastic in case you couldnt tell.

I play 7-2 if the cost is minimal. Just a superstition. I am amazed at how many times7-2 is then flopped. Never on my big blind, of course ...

Throw it away as soon as you get it....72 is awful, of course, some will say it is suited, and play it!

7-2

i usually only play 72 if im in the big blind and nobody raises. It can get you into trouble if you try to chase 2 pair if u hit one on the flop. Even if you hit 2 pair, if the board pairs and there is an overcard on board you are beat.

Cheeky 7-2

7-2 has become my new QJ! usually i like to play my QJ because it looks pretty in my hand, but for some reason the ugly 7-2 really does aid my balance . . . . its all fun and games in the world of poker!!

Anyone who doesn't fold 72 is nuts! Everyone knows that J5 is the only lucky hand!
