What do people recommend doing first? Staying on a single table and building your bankroll enough to move up in stakes? Or staying at the same stakes and once you have the money to move up in stakes, you instead add another table at the same stakes? And IF you should learn to multi table at the same stakes first, then once you actually move up in stakes, do you go back to single tabling at the new higher stakes? Or just instantly multi table there as well?

Depends if you are a winning player or not.

How much have you won over how many hands?

Honestly, I always multi-table, much quicker to move up stakes and as long as it is not causing you to make stupid mistakes it shouldn't hurt your BRM. Move up to higher stakes when your bankroll allows it.

For this example let's say that you are a winning player and have profited 50 buyins, or turned like 10 or 20 buyins to 50 buyins or something. And you do this over 30k-50k hands or so.

Multi-tabling should not effect moving up in stakes. If your bankroll is comfortable enough for you to move up, move up. If you are comfortable playing multiple tables at a time without it messing you up, then play more tables.

Moving up in stakes. Then when you hit plateau you can start to multi-tabling.

I would build my bank roll up until a point I can afford to loose in multi table

Ive always thought regular tables are best to begin with and keep to probably 2 tables.I always found myself if i played 1 table i didnt really play my A game. As i just found my self getting to involved in to many pots. And playing to many tables as a beginner is obviously not a good thing to do.Multi tabling shouldn't affect your bankroll though,if your using a 20 buy in rule and you have a $200 bankroll. You should be playing 10nl regardless of whether your 1 tabling or 4 tabling.

Hi

I like to play more tables rather than higher stakes. I feel that it gives me more opportunities to battle variance.

It's funny you say this, I've felt the same way when playing only 1 table. I over think things and get tilted easier and get involved in too many pots. I always like watch something or keep another tab open and surf the web or something just so I avoid tilt and I'm ok with being patient. Sure thus isn't good to a certain extent because you're not paying full attention to your opponents but I wasn't sure what else to do to avoid the tilt problem

How many? I've played 3 years. Im thinking to increase from 1-2 tables to two or three.
