I just played in the Ferguson the other...paying a dollar for the entry out of my grand 1.38 i won from freerolls. I expected to see tough players and people who knew what they were doing. I saw a lot of "im going to go all in because i have pock 10s" kinda people. People played looser in the Ferguson than I see people play in the later stages of 25 dollar freerolls in the morning. Why is that? Does is have anything to do with the fact that it's relatively easy to get into the Ferguson, just lay down a dollar. And it's obviously popular because of it's great pay-out structure. I got lucky, then got some bad beats and was knocked out; I was just wondering why it was more similar to the Patrik Antonius 360 Sit n gos than freerolls, even with 300 people knocked out.

I have yet to play the fergeson (due to lack of a buck,,,,sad know) But man I love going to the all in fests of the 360 or 180 1v1 antonious SnG first hand everyone all in its a good way to let off steam..especially when you can get into them like once a minute. Anyway

/end thread derailment

Well, the ferguson has gotten very popular and that attracts plenty of fishes... now, on a 25 dollar tourny i mean the late stages are all that matter... everyone is gonna be serious at that point cause they are trying to get something out of nothing if u know what i mean. If i were you i would either keep playing freerolls till i get a nice stack... or just play sit and goes which are cheap but effective. Good luck at the tablese :)

I've run deep in the Ferguson a couple of times, think my best was 16th or so. Because of all the players with the "it's only a buck" mentality it takes a decent amount of luck to get there though, been knocked out by donks calling with nothing and sucking out more times than I care to remember. The level of play does generally get better in the later stages of the tourney though. Even then there are still some donks who managed to accumulate huge stacks sticking around, so you need to be fairly careful. I agree with 10crow10 that the play in the $.10 rebuy is even worse. Generally I won't play either tourney unless I'm just looking for a cheap game to have some fun with. Oh, and at 4.5+ hrs for the ferguson, the payout is only really worth it if you make the final table, imo. Good cheap mtt experience though.

Oh man I bet the rebuy is worse. I don't like the rebuy aspect though. Also, today i just won some money in the Lucky Penny .1 buy-in on full tilt..i made 3.02, in which the people played well. They played more conservative but smart. Well after that I go play some ring games and I get up to 10 bucks. But this never would have happened if these people didn't just go all-in with nothing. Honestly I flopped a full house 10s full of jacks and two people went all in even before I did. haha. It's kind of ridiculous. Of course I'm just another guy who lost it all. (Bad beat. Pocket Ks lose to Pocket Qs...i couldn't fold), but are these players good players, or are they just lucky donks who gather up a couple of bucks player freerolls.. (like me) and then go to the tables and hope to get lucky?

i don't think i've ever seen more fish in one MTT than in the ferguson, i played it once and never again, because its only $1 entry, people treat it like an all-in convention with such marginal hands.

all you can really do is laugh at the ferguson
