It is not uncommon to lose 10bi's every now and then at 25nl even if you're really good, so i'd say play 10nl until you have $500, or play 25nl and if you do feel outmatched move down straight away, or move down when you lose a few buyins, or keep playing and not worry about going bust if you can easily just re-deposit. But really, 10 bi's is definitely not enough to play 25nl if you cant redeposit, or if you wont move down when you hit say $175

That makes sense I guess, I didn't realize that there was really that much of a difference in 25nl from 10nl buut thank you I will probably just stick with 10nl for a while maybe play a few hours of 25 just to test the waters

I hope you're not making the mistake of expecting live and online play at any given stakes to be of a similar level. I don't have enough live experience to offer an informed opinion, but people who do consistently rate $1/2 live as similar to micros online.

In a way, this is pretty understandable. At a casino, the lowest level fish play $1/2 or they don't play at all because there's nothing lower. Online, the lowest level fish play .01/.02 or .02/.04 because these stakes are available.

Even if you're a winning player at $1/2 live, you shouldn't expect to jet through the micros online. If you do, great. But it's clearly better to work your way through them at a pace that fits the growth of your game and your roll.

Yeah i have no experience with live cash but a lot of people have told me 1/2 live is something similar to 10nl online.

To be honest, my own rule has always been 10 buy ins minimum to move up. However, that was always dependent on how I felt the level of play at the new stakes was relative to my own. I would say give it a shot for a bit. Find a number that you are comfortable losing before deciding to drop back to 10nl.

One thing to be aware of: if you decide to move up and test the waters, dont change your overall strategy right away. Dont get intimidated by the stakes and tighten up, or become less aggressive, whatever it may be. Play the game that has made you successful to this point. Obviously, adjust as necessary as you get acclimated to the new level, as there will likely be changes to your game to maximize profit. But my advice is to let your game evolve while playing, rather than change prior to the jump. A change is more likely to mean losses and not give you a true sense of where your game is relative to the other players.

I would say play $10nl until winning a buy in does not feel like enough incentive to play optimally or you have $500; whichever comes first. When you do move up, try testing the waters with one table for a few sessions so you can become familiar with the differences without risking alot. If you get smacked down a couple sessions in a row, drop back down and rebuild - before the loss starts to hurt and cause megatilt.
