Hey,

I have built my bankroll to $450. I am thinking of moving up at $500. Is this sufficient, maybe a little less than ideal but it isn't terrible BRM is it?

Most people have said 25nl is where the big leap is. What tips can you give me and what kind of changes should I expect from 10nl?

Its not that great a leap

Word.

For me the leap is 50... lol.

10 is just such a grind because there is no 20...

Same style of play, and you'll probably see some familiar players... losing (but hopefully winning) $20 pots versus $8 pots will be the biggest change.

I almost wish we could filter for units instead of $... I think a lot of us would be playing for bigger stakes.

If you are talking about 9 handed ring, not Rush, there is a slight change in aggression level, and more players are playing more cleverly. There will be more baby sharks. Less ABC. But it's slight. You'll have a chance to figure the players at your table out.

The real difference is going to be in you. Right now, you are probably relatively OK with losing a buy in here and there, especially with the AA v KK or QQ matchups, and the river beat downs. If you can ride through those at 10NL without tilting in the slightest, then you may be ready for the next level.

The question will be whether you are bouncing off the walls in pain when you lose $25-50 at a pop. Be ready to move back down quickly. It takes some adjustment to be able to weather variance at amounts that start to really hurt. A month's worth of gain lost in five seconds -- not fun. And that's why you may want more of a cushion in your bankroll rather than less. It makes those new larger hits less tilt-worthy. It's about comfort zones, more than what other players do. It's about not playing scared.

Having a larger-than-absolutely-necessary bankroll can help you deal with variance better. At least for me, tilt is a struggle, and I focus on doing whatever keeps my head straight. Patience, discipline and bankroll management. For me, BRM is also tilt management.

25nl is alot different to 10nl its actually poker not just call to the river see who has best hand.

just pay more attention to table selection as theres tonnes of nits at 25nl and maybe start by playing peak times like weekends when it plays more like 10nl just to get used to playing for more money.

but there are still plenty of fish at 25nl so dont worry theres just alot more regs than 10nl.

yup lot more nits on nl25

I love nits, they just fold and let me play many hands against the fish !!!

I don't understand why they play cards and never adjust to their opponents...
