I am playing poker since several years at SNGs and MTTs.
But I was always fascinated about cash game and gave them few tries, but never involved deeply.
Also because I have a lot of respect to these kind of game.
But recently I tried some again due to some challenge of a poker room on 5 NL. And yes, I did not so bad there. Maybe it was beginners luck. :D
But I am considering to do some more in this area. Therefore I have some questions...

1. Time
What sounds nice for me about cash game, you go in and go out whenever you want.
You are independent from time.

But what I also realized, it also takes some time for winning some hands. What are the average hours, that you need to play for a session? How long do you stay usually at one table in average? And do you think you have an advantage about time compared to SNG?

2. Multitabling
Would you recommend multitabling at cash at the beginning? Well, I am used to it for tourneys and SNG. But at the beginning for cash, how would you do?

3. BRM
Recently I withdraw some from several rooms and kept there everywhere around $150.
So I guess, playing the 5NL would be ok, or not?

4. HUD
What HUD do you recommend for PT4? Do you use one, that you can buy or do you
have recommendations about adjusting it for the cash tables?

I really would like to try a change and a new challenge during this year and maybe yes, about the move to the cash tables. I look forward for your answers. :)

Further questions come later by me probably.

4. HUD

Pro poker hud for 6 max is great (at least back in the time when I ran 30 day free version) , but costly for micro player. Best fee one I have found is justings 6max added with 2 own windows.

I think $150 is not even close to being enough BR for $5NL, maybe you meant $0.5NL which is still not enough. Max buy-in in $0.25/0.50NL is $50, so your BR would equal to just 3 buy-ins. In $3/6NL minimum buy-in is $240, and max buy-in is $600, so you could not even sit at a table with $150. A BR of $150 is good enough for a 2cent/5cent NL table where you would have 30 max buy-ins , nothing above that. For $2/$5NL a decent BR would be around 15 thousand dollars.

1. Time
I started playing cash at the beginning of the year and was used to playing long mtts (10h+). Cash games you can just close your tables and start another session in a few hours if you feel tired or just need a break, this is a big advantage over huge mtts. But not so much compared to SnGs since they don't take 10h+.. you can pretty much consider a session 1-2 sngs in a row.

2. Multitabling
Well you can just try and if you feel like you are losing focus or you could do better on less or just one table you can't again just leave anytime you want. I would suggest to try to keep it small in the begining

3. BRM
You have pretty much the minimum for 5NL but i would suggest again to beat 2NL first (just my opinion), you could try to get to $200 at 2NL and then move up.

4. HUD
I use PT4 too myself and is a great toll. But i think any tracker is fine.[FONT=NotoSans, Lato, arial, sans-serif]

That is a fantastic HUD. I used it for the 30 day trial too. I will probably buy it this year. Another very good HUD is Justins6max available for free download on PT4.

As you have 150$ everywhere, I would start 0,01/0,02 for a while. If you can win there, put only the winnings to stab once in a while on higher ground. You know, you will see and you will find out for yourself. But be aware, on a cash table 150$ can be lost to only one person in minutes. You will have to deposit your withdrawals again, maybe.I have taken several turns with some winnings on cash games, and what should I say? They were happy to meet me, took my money and I have never ever seen them since.

immer schoen vorsichtig, da wollen alle nur Dein Bestes, Dein Geld!!! Jeder, der dir was anderes erzaehlt, ist einer von denen und wartet schon auf dich :)I have planned to start cash games next year, but I am fresh, only 0.5 years of experience in onlinepoker, for sure the pros here can help you better, I have seen calculations of how many tables you have to play at which blinds to win tatata amaount...

I definitely will check this out, thank you for the tip.

Yeah, maybe you are right and I should try to exercise there some before moving up,
I also thought so about this, but also thought I am not completely unexperienced in poker.

Yes, I meant the 0.25/0.5 buy-ins. I thought they are measured in cents or not?

Thank you too Gohaku94, about the time I really think, it is an advantage.
But yeah, I also realized, that it can take some time untill you leave the table with some winnings. But I also thought, maybe I am just too slow to win some or too nitty. :D

Thank you too, this I will also check, altough I want to concentrate at 9max tables at the beginning. And maybe later add the 6max to my repoirtore. At SNG I like the 6max tables actually pretty much, but at cash I am still a bit scared.

Thanks as well for your tips. And yeah, as it seems, the 0,01/0,02 should be a starting point for me. I got it. :D And yes, I am full of respect to cash games as I know, you can loose quickly some money. Maybe there even the tilt factor kicks more in than in SNGs...

time is relative, room full of fish? you play til you collapse! but usually, 2hrs is a good long time. go for a walk refresh yourself, top pros do this.

also, wouldnt recommend multi tabling, if you do... you have to move down a full level just to play 2 tables, 2 levels down to play four. top pros do this, studies have shown for you to only be 70-85% as effective with 2 tables instead of one.

table selection is super important, dont think you can beat just any table, you need fish always. spend the time to find a table that isnt a bunch of grinders.
