So lately this has been working quite well. I buy in for the min or maybe somewhere around like 60 or 70 bucks. Grind out till i get aces or kings and just triple up. They never expect a good player to buy in so low.

Any thoughts or stories similar or different?

They're right to think a good player wouldn't buy in so low :)

Waiting for KK or AA and hoping you triple up, which if your against good players you won't, does not make you good. It makes you an easily exploitable nit. Just bein honest

Here's one big flaw in that strategy (there is more than one) - just about everyone at the table knows what you are doing as soon as you sit down. You don't have to play a single hand and everyone has a good and accurate read on you. What kind of advantage do you think that gives you? I love to see guys like you sit down - I expend no time or energy figuring you out.

And when the guy to your right starts stealing from you every orbit what do you do then?

Well to be fair it isn't really impossible to win by waiting for the nuts. I mean a good reg will steal his blinds every orbit, but most people who sit down at a given table aren't regs -- especially live or at like Bovada etc. so what will happen is when he gets a real good hand he'll 3bet, get the reg's minraise when the reg gets out of the way, and potentially gets a fish's stack.

You gotta admit it's far from optimal. And you don't learn anything.

Anyone here hits and runs?

If he's playing a short stacking strategy, well whatever, but it doesn't sound like it from his opening post. Sounds more like he's caught a few big hands and got them all in pre. Wow.

You'll go broke quick because AA and KK are not invincible. They get cracked all the time. Play more hands when your in late position. Good luck.

It's not, but it's not necessarily losing poker.

What isn't? You read his opening post right? Just wait for aces or kings and triple up. That sound like a good plan to you?

I guess if the table was like uber laggy or something and you could get away with getting it in pre. Maybe. If you're not gonna bail out postflop when the board gets scary then you'll definitely lose a ton of money though.

And why, pray tell, are they getting it in with after watching you fold the last 70 hands? I know I'd fold to any raise there

They're stupid?

nope, answer was they are not. Honestly maybe its just US sites these days, but micro grinders aren't as stupid as they once were. Especially at Carbon where they offer a free hud, people will fold in an instant if your playing under 10% of your hands. And rightly so!

Maybe he's playing live idk.

I don't know if this is a sufficient excuse for play like his. He's the player I take notes on at the table that are like "remember to exploit this player constantly"

Yup. Lets say it takes him 70 hands to get what he's looking for. Thats about 2 hours live? 2 hrs, no hands? I'm ripping you apart! Lol
