I find I tilt more playing fewer tables, as probably get too involved with play. Ego and stubbornness probably factor sometimes too. Recently starting playing a lot more tables and sometimes I dont even see the outcome of hands. Had positive results so far.

Does anyone else find this? Or what techinques have helped you to stop tilt?

I think more tables helps to reduce tilt, since you are focusing on so many things. On the other hand the results of tilt are more catastrophic.

I find that the only way to really get over tilt is to play more.

Tilt occurs when your expectations and your results don't meet. The more you play, the more you realize what your expectations should be. The closer your expectations are to your results the less you will tilt. Your options are to either reduce your expectations or to improve your results. Time on the felt will probably do both.

I think overtime also when your playing multi tables, you don't realise how boring 1 or 2 tables can be :) I'm scared for when I do hit the casino again heh with just 1 table but I do miss having a dealer deal me in :( soon soon.

So your mind gets bored and eventually tilt for kicks.

I can't play optimal poker with more than 4 tables but I still think if u took a bad beat it would affect you and with more tables open you will have more money at risk.
Think it's a very simplistic stance to have that having more tables open will reduce tilt. There are definitely other factors to consider.

I think because 1 table you may have a bad beat while on the other table you've stacked off.

Though sometimes you do find yourself with multiple losses which hurt :)

If you tilt with 1 table, you will tilt with many tables too, i think no matter how many tables you are playing

Tilt is one of my worst leaks. Yesterday though I had such a rough day at the tables. Picked up aces three times, all of them cracked, runner runner flushes and straights you name it against me. But because I was running so badly I actually surpassed tilting and avoided it, because I knew it was purely bad luck, not my play. I ended up finishing down only 0.75BI. It felt like a win. Ill look back at that day next time im feeling tilted!

My biggest losing sessions have always been when I tilted while playing on 4 tables(the maximum I ever play). As people have stated tilting while playing on more tables has more disastrous results. That's because you are always playing a hand and thus you can keep messing up without getting a "break".

If let's say you are tilting while playing one table, the max you would do is play the next hand very badly but after that you will probably come to your senses. But if you play a bad hand on ALL the tables that will have a catastrophic effect on your BR.

My tilt pacification technique is to recall a time when I sucked out against someone else and mutter 'karma' through my clenched teeth.

You know those times when everytime you have KK or AA or actually any hand and it runs into a set. EVERY single time that's tilt baby! :)\

Then you hit a set and they get runner runner quads lol.

Raise reraise... shove A3 vs KK... flop 3 3 10...

haha.

This morning I flopped a flush, got re-raised all in with a bluff and the chap hit runner runner FH!

My girlfriend, who isn't into poker, thought I was going into cardiac arrest.

I am not so good at playing 4 tables so I downgraded from 10NL to 4NL until I get a good hold on how to play 4 tables efficiently.

What happened is that I hit 3 sets back to back and lost all 3 hands. Twice it was set over set and once someone rivered a gutshot on me. Its probably the first time ever something that ridiculous happened to me. I am glad I was playing 4NL though as the hit on BR wasn't crushing.
