Once blinds start 3betting the smaller steal size makes no difference with your premiumsas you can 4bet for value or call and make them play a 3bet hand OOP and get a cbet out of them.
Definitely agree to consistent raise sizing no matter your hand, however my mate usually raises a lot of different sizes, over the session I saw him go anywhere from 2x, to 2.6x however he never went over 3xBB for some reason that I couldn't understand. Even if your mixing up your raise sizing unless you can make it completely random and remember to, one mistake can lead to you being exploited, that's why I'm for just raising the exact same amount each time. There's tons of reasons why each makes sense, however raising 2-2.5xbb at a cash table just says weakness to me and puts you in multiway spots often. He hadn't been at the table for more than just 10 hands during this spot, so no one had any reads on him I reckon.
