In a $3-$5 NLH game against an early limper and a middle raiser, hero reraises to 7bbs with 99. Both players call. Flop is rainbow 7-5-3. Early limper wakes up and bets 8bbs while pfr calls. Was hero wrong to re-raise against a crowd of strangers or should he just call?

If you don’t have much info on the other players I would probably fold. Seeing they both called your reraise preflop and then are also betting on the flop could mean a pocket pair higher than yours or the limper could’ve even flopped a straight with suited gapers. They both seem strong so you will probably have to hit your set to win which is unlikely.

Agreed w Ofarah, not a great spot here w/o more info, this is a spot to call a raise and fold to a reraise... no need to act all aggro

I would just call there with 99- 2 left to act plus two already in the pot.

I definitely just call preflop; I don't want to get re-raised with 9s. Did early limper hit a set ?

Against a raise with 99 is simple call, after the flop you look at the actions of your opponents...

Probably best to just flat call the raise preflop with 99. You can then play the hand in position and be able to evaluate the action of your opponents.

I think it's a fine fold on the flop. Did you see what hands the opponents showed down by chance?
