OK, I know you are supposed to play tight and ABC and all that.

But doesnt the amount of people at a table change things?

For example:

Lets say there are only 5 people at a table (not 10)

And because of this, the blinds come around to you TWICE as much.

So you are paying DOUBLE the money to see HALF the cards preflop that you would on a bigger table.

Waiting around for a big hand, you could easily go broke!

So....

You also have to take in account that because there are less players everyone else is Also LESS likely to get a big hand so...

The hand you would normally play only in last position (like a10 or k10) could easily be the biggest hand at any given time!

So...

Should you loosn up? Leave and look for a table with more players? What?

Small tables scare the heck outa me!

I play 6max micros a lot. I might be (prolly am) wrong, cuz I'm not the ripest cocoanut in the bushel. :p

but... I get the most profit at these tables by playing very tight, and very aggressive. It's just a matter of patience, and realizing when it's time to abandon the seat for another.

If you have notes on someone, that's another story cuz now you're playing the person, not the cards.

One thing that will kill me is getting pissed at a lagtard and running with him. Wost thing you can do is play another mans game with him. If they play like crap, then they're prolly better at playing crap than me. :) So I wait... and pounce.

Seems to work for me. Thing is, when you get a big one, you get a call. Just seems to be the norm at micros.

you dont need to loosen up at all imo. if you play FR shorthanded just play it like the first 4 spots of folded. You dont need to play any differant? why would you?

The only differance is there will be a differant dynamic. because you are getting more chances to open etc.. people might 3 bet you more. its all about adjusting.

If you dont feel comfortable. Just leave. when i used to 24 table i'd just switch tables because i didnt have the time to play 6 max. But if thats not an issue and you have a fishy table just stick with it. it just plays like laste position FR anyway.

When i´m playing short handed i do loosen up. I come in early in a pot with ex. small suited connectors. Also ace-X suited. But if i don´t hit anything i´m out of the pot if somebody bets. But if i´m last to act i almost always bet. But i´m also trying to be the aggresor at the tables where i play.
