I have a few basic questions for 2NL (0.01/0.02) and 5NL stakes:

  • What's your strategy when someone else goes all at various points in the game?
  • When would you go all-in at these stakes?
I am still learning and trying to figure out a strategy that is more than just gambling...it seems to me it's pretty risky to call anyone else's all-in PF, even with a premium hand, if the goal is slow and steady progress. But it's so tempting when you have statistically a great PF hand with, say, AA.

I'm not sure about post-flop.

There used to be such a strategy, read about it - Short Stack Strategy (SSS).
I do not want to give references to other people's resources. Google it.

The Short Stack Strategy is probably the easiest poker strategy to use and the hardest poker strategy to beat. It might well be unbeatable.

This strategy is ideal for beginners; it is easy to learn and a great way to build up your bankroll. It's also the easiest strategy to use when multi-tabling.

I have more conservative tactics of playing poker as a foundation, but on one conservative tactic of success it's very difficult to achieve, therefore I combine a conservative method as a basis, combined with various other strategic decisions during the game, at the initial stage in tournaments, I try to look as many flops as the blinds are not high and there is a chance to collect a good hand, and in the later period of the game, I go to the flop with good cards.

I usually dont go nuts betting unless i have a boat or atleast a flush with a decent high card... Only bet it when you get it.... And dont go all in unless you absolutely know there is nothing higher than you

I will almost never go all in PF against an unknown with anything less than KK. Against loose aggressive players this will widen significantly depending on how the play is running at the time and how they are playing. I will usually fold QQ to a 4bet from any kind of nit. with a small 3b stat.

Post flop is a different story.

patience understanding! the most important thing in poker is to think about what you are doing and why raising is always better than checking or folding!

When someone else goes all-in with a full stack I'm generally only calling with QQ, KK, AA and AK. If it is a short stacker with loose-aggressive stats then I'm opening up to probably 99+ and broadways like KQ, A10+.

I will only go all-in with QQ, KK, AA and AK.

This is all at full ring, I don't play much 6-max.

I am playing $0.05 no limit online. When I play in a Live Casino I play 1/ $2.
What helps me is when I play the micro limit online game I asked myself, if this was a live game would you bet that much money? I just convert from the big blind, for instance, if the online game is $0.05 i x 40 to equate it with a live game.
