Buy in with the minimum, Limit and Pot limit tends to favor the chasers because its hard to protect premium starting hands and hands that are in the lead at the flop. When you double or triple your stack leave the table and go to another one if you are still in the mood to play. Players at your initial table start picking up on your player profile - how you play and if you play TAG style you won't get value, and if you're LAG too many callers. I know one guy who primarily jumps from table to table button raising, so far he has doubled his BR - obviously he couldn't do this if he just stayed at one table. GL at the tables.

Play tight agressive poker. If you consisently come in with better starting hands than your opponents, you're going to make a lot more bets when they are calling with a second-best hand.

If you want to buy in minimum at no-limit I would suggest reading Ed Millers articles on buying in short at Card Player. I wouldn't buy in short at limit, you want to have enough money on the table to get in the maximum bets and raises when you hit a killer hand.

Thanks... I'm playing very well at the $.02/$.04 tables on pokerstars.

A few things that I've learned...

1) Play ONLY good hands
2) Don't attempt to bluff a lot
3) Be patient

how much of a bankroll do you think I should gain before I move up to the next level ($.05/$.10)?

Yeah, I forgot to mention that. You can occasionally pull off a bluff at these stakes, but you're more than likely to get a call. Then again you can bet for value and expect to get paid off more by weaker hands as well.
