So I have doubled up my deposit and learned a ton from this site, new stuff every day, and bought poker tracker. I decided after this sort of achievement is tale a more in depth look at my career so far.

Looked at the graphs to check out all in EV as I just figured out what it actually was, neat tool, then I ticked of the boxes for won when went to showdown and won without showdown, expecting, naively, to see similar graphs, but got a small shock with basically -250 BBs down with my red line. I guess with blinds and good folds this line goes down but I didn't think I'd been getting to showdown nearly that much more than taking down pots, and for that matter I thought I was getting pretty good at winning pots without showdown. My red line basically just goes down and down, and has negated about 1/6th of my blue line winnings.

What are some reasons my red line is dropping at a steady rate
What are resources to improve my red line and possibly turn it around
Is aggression linked to the red line pretty closely

This looks like sort of a big leak and a good one to plug before I move up in stakes or even take shots. (I'm practicing BRM of 50BI for current stakes, at 25, with shots at 20BI for the stakes I shoot at, really want to take things slow and steady).

As always, all posts are appreciated!

My red line has never been great too. The best way to increase this is to win pots with out showdown. You need to force people to fold more, how to go about it isn't to easy to breakdown because every opponent and board is different. Yes ramping up aggression should help your red line.

I did some reading and maybe I'm not all that bad off. I read a post about a guy with half his blue line going to his red line and he was pretty happy, it was just a result of playing aggressive, I'm still open to advice though.

It's pretty normal for your red line to slowly decrease. Kinda hard to get it in the positive and it's very likely you have other leaks that will have a bigger impact on your profit than trying to fix this will. Post some of your stats or something similar?

Yea I did some reading on the subject and found out I have no reason to worry right now, if my blue line outweighs my red line 6 fold, it's not even a bad ratio to have. I will post stats once I get to 5k hands, I don't have a ton of time to play so it's taken me almost a month to amass 4k hands, but I've been steadily climbing with a couple small swings. Really dedicated to learning though and playing smart. I find distancing myself from the monetary aspect is working well. I made a HUD mask for the currency to make it show up as BBs instead of a dollar value, taking some getting used too but I think that it will help when I start changing to tournaments and taking shots.

Don't worry about your redline too much if your winrate is decent/solid. Also, you can't expect to increase your redline much or at all without significantly decreasing your showdown winnings. Fish don't let go of gutshots, TPNK, so barreling off is going to cost you a lot at the micros.

Thanks Minh, that's been probably the way I've made most of my winnings. Just barrel away, even with nothing. If I meet resistance from a tight player, probably best to fold and I think that's a factor, but I am confident that strategy is making me more than if I try to worry about the red line. After 4k hands I'm at 25bb per 100 or so after a nasty 2 BI bleed out yesterday.
