Hi all

So i used to play micro stakes and it seemed there were a lot of donks and fishies, now a days it seems like everyone at the table is freaking pro.

Not playing loose and not making big mistakes or even big pots. not to say from time to time a player won't pop in and donk there stack off but it seems far and in between. has anyone else came across this or have i just been sitting at the tightest tables lately?

i think that wherever the fish are the sharks will be around-it isnt alot of fun playing at a table full of sharks-waiting for one of the other sharks to make a mistake -after that the feeding frenzy begins-i think the time of day yer playing has alot to do with who you might be facing playing poker-the weekends you see alot of recreational players -1 am tuesday morning you might be playing the sharks and the aggro drunks all the rec players are sleeping

The people who do play are certainly better now than 5 years ago. Try changing the time of day you play, the stakes or even the site to find worse opponents.

about two-three years ago, plo cash games used to be pretty juicy and fun to play on pstars. Now it is pretty much unplayable, just a nitfest of multitabling regs.

Where do you play? When do you play?

They aren't "freaking pros" by any means. It's like any other venue, live or on-line: the real fish go busto really quick and you never see them again. The live venue where I play hasn't run a PLO game in six months. That game cost the fish so much so fast that they refused to play it anymore.

Even though it's "micro", those nickles and dimes add up to dollars pretty fast, and they can lose obscene amounts of money when they're making deposit after deposit. They either quit, or they decide to do something about it and get better. Sometimes, they figure out on their own that TPTK wasn't the hand they thought it was after they got stacked a few times with it.

Maybe try a different venue? Try different times of the day. There are still plenty of fish out there, and they will always be the majority of players.

I play ussually micro in PS, and I'm sure there are still big-fishes playing , but too exist in all tables, either full ring and six-max players very patient waiting for fishes or persons in tilt to get the money.

Its not easy to win in micro, unless you're a very patient and never go into tilt person.

I played the last 2 days at $.01/.02 NL & there were a plethora of "fun players" at the table. I will grant you that compared to 3-5 years ago the players have got better, but there are still plenty of great spots to be had.

888 poker is the only one remaining poker client that can be played in micro bets and actually win something, I have racked up from their 2$ cash registration bonus to 27$ in just a few hours with tight aggressive play.

ya ACR just seems hard to make money on in general. tourneys are way too top heavy, And cash games just seem to be ridiculously tight, and nitty.

BOL, full flush, (arent paying customers ) and bovada i can rack it up pretty good. And Merge is pretty decent

The play at micro levels is definitely better now compared to a few years ago, but it is still possible to make some profits. Just keep notes so you know who the regulars are (and can stay away from the good ones) and who the nice fishies are so you can play with them the most. You will always have a few regulars at your table, but you should find that certain times/days work to your advantage. Evenings and weekends seem best to me personally. Gl!

I've noticed that also. I think many players are into learning now. Word gets around fast that learning the game is important if you want to be a winner. But there are still many out there that have only one thing in mind. WINNING. WITHOUT ANY EXPERIENCE AND SHOWING THOSE GOOD PLAYER WHAT THEY CAN DO WITHOUT IT. They see learning as a waste of time when they could be at the tables winning big money at micro stakes. And taking the money they win to, at least, one more level. Sometimes this stuff drives me crazy wondering what those players are thinking. I can't even count how many times I've seen a player call all the way to the river, and when I see their cards I think WTF. Because they don't even have a pair, but they do have an A. Who said call anything if you have an A and the other card don't matter. I'm done now

I've been playing online cash games for about 12 years now (started with full ring limit, then switched to 6 max NL). The highest I played was $400 NL on Full Tilt, right when Black Friday hit everyone. It's amazing the extent to which the games have changed. Even $2 NL has a bunch of multi tabling grinders, slowing everything down and timing out. The games are so different.

I played 0.01 $ / 0.02 $ for a long time and now I switched to 0.05 $ / 0.10 $

I played 0.01 $ / 0.02 $ for a long time and now I switched to 0.05 $ / 0.10 $ and I want to say that very rarely there is a fish or those who do not know how to play at all. Mostly middle-level players and there are sharks. I think it does not matter here is micro limits or large limits, everywhere people want to win and sit down at the table to get some profit. I agree with you that every year there are more and more experienced players in online poker, it was much easier to win earlier.
