Play poker.
Profit.

Maybe I should expand. I've not been playing nearly enough so I want to get my money on the table and hopefully start seriously trying to increase my bankroll. 40k month sounds good, hands obviously :p.

Villains calling my 4 and 5 bet shoves with JJ shouldn't be allowed to win the flip, at least not the last 4, sigh.

Oh and 75/60's always have 24 on a 224 two-tone flop against MY JJ obviously. Sigh again.

I don't feel like i'm running bad mainly. I'm flopping lots of TP's and some sets, but random stuff like that depresses me.

15 buy-ins in 600 hands. I feel pretty sad atm.

I don't even feel I was on tilt, although I do admit that I wasn't playing my best by the end. It just got ridiculous towards the end. In the time it took me to close my tables I ripped right through the minimum roll of $40 for 2nl. Sigh. This hand just sums up the session perfectly....

They were far from the only ones or only thing. Just every little thing goes against you. Even the small things like raising your AA and getting no action to raising medium hands and getting 3-bet every single time, it all adds up. Makes you hate poker :(. The thing is, I'll be back tomorrow or the day after to build it up again. Sick life.

EDIT: You can probs see how much I hated that JJ hand, I could see me losing it after the flop came, just how it starts getting to you. When the A turns, I knew I was beat but by this point I was definately tilting. :(.

Wow 15 buy ins? You obviously don't set a stop loss for yourself. Generally when I am down 4-5 buy ins I will just shut all the tables down and walk away, come back later or tomorrow. This is even if I feel like I am playing my best but just getting sucked out on a lot, you will go on bad streaks like that but when it happens 4 or 5 times in a row it will start to get to you even if you think it doesn't...

Yeah, 15 is a lot. I bet you were playing worse than you think at the end. I've done 10 a couple times and the end of those sessions were total spew.

Shake it off though. You can bounce back.

study study study til january

This.

Im in the same boat as you Patty. Waiting till summer (here in NZ) to deposit enough to jump right into 50NL

Till then its study study and maybe the odd game to spend my remaining FPP's

I just cant play the micro's (2-25NL) as the monetary amount just feels so little and I spew buy-ins like theres no tomorrow (I can spew 10 BI @ 10NL quiet easily as the amount is little compared to losses i've taken in futures trading). Always 1 step forward, 3 steps backward.

50/100NL is where I start to actually take more care about my play.

I played some 2/4NL short stacked tables this weekend (way out of BRM) and it felt like a good position for me. Obviosuly I dont have the bankroll (40k) or skill to play there but with some bumhunting and 1 tabling I felt I played much better than 4 tabling 10NL.

So I believe depositing enough for 50NL and hopefully moving up to 100NL will see my poker progress further than grinding up through the micro's.

Till then I have a hoard of deucescracked videos to watch and my database to go back over and analyse my current leaks and mentally prepare for these levels for the end of the year.

Hello May. If I play poker this month when finals end will you let me win?

Goals for the month.
10-20K hands(yeah I know, tiny, but I figured out recently that months where I play low volumes, usualy only when I feel like playing and up for it, are more profitable months then the once I grind like crazy so im just gonna play low volumes and have fun since that should translate into more $ imo).
Play good and study.
Pass all my exams.

For may I have written a poem. I expect no reward for such poem.

Maybe some profit.

May.
You are the best month of all, I think of thee everyday.
May.
I don't ask you for much, maybe to look in the pocket and see AA?
May.
My love for you is so great, why not repay I with a payday?
May.
The words that I say will never amount to the pain, that I feel when I lose a big pot in one of full tilts 5NL games.
May.
My love for you is clear,
sit down, pass me a beer,
bring along with you aces,
and sit there and cheer.

-15BI in 600 hands? Wow. Bad start. gl for the rest of May.

My goals for May:
1: Not to make poker my main priority, the amount of hours per week I've been spending sitting in a casino is +EV for the wallet, -EV for (useful) education and anything that's important.
2: Make money.
