Major trouble with light 3 betting
Okay so a few people have explained to me in a few posts why it's better to 3 bet certain hands and such but I still feel awfully lost when it comes to 3 betting light.
Basically I know the type of player I want to 3 bet: LAGG's (who can fold, NOT FISH) and TAGS (Not Nits).
I also know it's best to light 3 bet from late position against a late opener, e.g. 3 betting a Tag who raises on the CO and we light 3 bet on the button.
Can we light 3 bet OOP and do we have to change our hand ranges/villain types when 3 betting OOP as opposed to being IP? E.g. A TAG on the BTN raises and we light 3 bet him from BB.
What types of hands do we light 3 bet with? This is a real problem for me as people have told me to basically light 3 bet everything. Some people tell me to 3 bet hands like A/6s and K/Jo as the Ace and King/Jack is a blocker and we don't want to call pre-flop as they are bad reverse implied odds
, however some people have also told me not to 3 bet hands like that as they will be dominated by higher broadway hands such as A/Q etc.
Whereas this article says to 3 bet hands like suited connectors: http://www.thepokerbank.com/strategy/general/3-betting/
