What best describes this? ... I've heard it and probably read it somewhere a long time ago but forgot...

Thanks for refreshing my memory.

idk sounds like someone who makes bad calls because they have to know if villain was bluffing or not.

Look up artist is someone who calls light habitually. For whatever reason, they always think everyone is FOS.

Most people who are not versed in poker will play like that initially.

A typical human's base character is one of a mistrustful coward. Hence, passive fish being the most common if you hypothetically get everyone on earth to play poker.

Example of me portraying a look up artist. Much to the agro fish's chagrin.

Nah the flop 3bet disqualifies you. Way too aggro for a LA.

Lookup artist is someone who habitually calls cbets with anything on the flop to see what PFR does on the turn, especially if he is IP.

Awwwwww the call on the turn don't count?

Yeah that was one weird ass line I took, but the opponent is being all weird too, minraising EVERY cbet I made on the table for past half hour. Lol

There is a guy who donks into me 60% of the time. I won 9 buyins from him this month :D since you had position on this guy most of the time, I assume result was properly brutal for him too?

Nah, just took a stack from him. My logic was he ain't likely have an Ace here for three reasons :-
(a) fish almost never min-raise A high, it usually means a draw or TP
(b) if he had a two pair hand on turn there by hitting any part of the flop and then turning an Ace, I VERY much doubt he'll shove and decide to trap instead
(c) he's an agrofish

He woke up with T9o

I'm kinda psych I'm making much better hero calls these past weeks? I hope this is not tilt getting lucky

Dunno, I can only read known players and typical lines (there has to be a "fish handbook of poker" somewhere, they play the same lines).

In FR minraises are often sets, FD would usually raise more here but most often just call. So I wouldn't call turn there vs an unknown (regardless of his sizing).

LA = Look up artist is actually a term I coined (I first wrote about this maybe 7 years ago or more), and it's in my book. It's someone who calls on the flop too much, to see if someone will slow down, but folds on the turn a lot.

Ok. A fellow member recommended your E-book to me.

I have read some of it, and I like it so far. I did see the part about "look-up-artists", but obviously, I did not comprehend it very well.

I kinda confused and blended it together with calling stations.

This also reminds me that I need to continue reading your book. Thanks for that.:D

:) There's a whole section on notes and reads and it goes over look up artists. Hopefully it helps.

Thanks guys... I will read your e-book John but while i'm playing well online I don't study too much until I reach another hurdle. I find if I read too much while playing I get in two minds and i'd rather keep things simple and study when in times of frustration and need :)
