Hi, I recently visited a local Casino to play a $1/$2 NL cash game. I found the game to be very soft in terms of what I saw they were calling pre-flop with. Many of them opened with 10 BB preflop everytime and got called with suited connectors or even weaker. Also I noticed, that they would fold to almost any C-bet o a bet on the flop. One of the things that I would appreciate some help with is how to open preflop with say a premium hand when you have a table full of weak players who call with basically any suited cards or with whatever Ace or King. My strategy throughout the game basically to wait them out, playing very tight preflop and ended up having a positive session. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

That is what I would suggest, playing AA-22 nad AK and AQ suited against this type of loose-aggressive play.

Live games at 1/2 are always soft. The game is so slow that people get impatient.

First thing is narrow down what a "premium" hand is. Some people think AQ is a premium hand, I do not.

Personally, I would take my time and watch what the betting pattern is. Are people always raising 10x the bb? Do they call 25bb? This will let you know what to bet and not win 3.00, but narrow down the field.

Then I would wait for a premium hand. AA, KK, AKs, QQ, JJ, 1010 is about what my range would be. Get some good music.

Once I won a pot or two and got a feel for the table I would start expanding my range using "their" money, not mine, to include things like AQ, AJ, A10, KQs, KJs, ect...

Sounds like you just need to adjust your ranges while in postion in order to steal the pot more often than not, if these players are so scared of seeing a turn ... for what its worth 5bb opens are not unusual at live 200NL. Its more of the norm like a 3x would online.
