So my br is gone and im starting over
ive decided to tweek my range a bit from every position hoping it will show some improvement, also, ive decided to almost completely eliminate bluffs unless I see very obvious weakness while in lp.
I will be playing 2/5 (500max). Im only starting off with 2500, which I know is very low. i just cant play the mindless 1/2 tables anymore because the rake kills me and I tilt quicker when some idiot says something like, i called your all in with 22 because i put yoy on a,k. i didnt think you had a,a... after he hits his two outer.
But shit happens right? anyway,i needed some thoughts on how I should approach the game with such a limited bank roll.
Should I push every edge, should I avoid coin flips until my br ids bigger, ect.
thanks in advance

play 1/2
get better, the fact that your complaining about fish play means your not ready for 2/5. Also, the argument of "move up where they'll respect my raises" etc etc. is bad

+1 There is very little difference between 1/2 & 2/5 at most casinos except for the amount of money on the table.

Jilly at my casino K8 is considered a good hand lol.... if that's the same 2/4 i'm moving up next week :)

But i'm averaging 173+ every visit I go to the casino for the year including losses at 1/2 tables

I'm just waiting patiently acculating bankroll... my goal was 8k before considering 2/4 :) but the thought crossed my mind was, make 600 1/2 then have a crack at 2/4 and if I loose 400 I stil make my average

Yeah 2/5 is no thang. Maybe a few more nits but it's often quite similar to 1/2. My advice to OP is to focus on resisting tilt due to bad plays/players. It took me awhile myself to completely exorcise those demons (I'm happily tilt proof these days) and I think a lot of you would find the unconventional methods I used to be quite amusing, but it has such an enormous impact on your overall success. If a players wins around 4bb/100 on average (online) and he ends up shoving 100 blinds in a spot he'd probably fold were he not steaming a little, that's actually 2,500 hands (and several hours) worth of hard work instantly going down the drain. Unless he gets lucky or something.

beating 1/2 at my local casino would probably be easy for almost all of our cardschat members...the only problem is it is VERY boring and not even poker. What I mean by that is that you can't play complex mind games, or make any big plays, you just sit around all day and fold until you have a good hand then some retard will pay you off. I have only seen ppl fold top pair twice, and not even TPTK, just top pair is considered a big hand at these live games.

poker isnt about playing complex mind games, poker's about money.

people at 1/2 have lots of it, and are pretty much donating it to anyone with top pair..

OP, don't complain about fish calling you down, just have it, triple and make money its not hard.

If you're folding a lot of hands at soft 1/2 games you are doing something wrong.

I wasn't complaining about being called down, i just find live 1/2 very boring. i like 2/5 better became it is like a very deep 1/2 game and I do much better with a bigger stack.
Anyway, I'll try to make at least another 1500 before I play 2/5 again. hopefully it wont take long. im up 400 since my last post, i hope to get the rest by the end of the weekend
