Hi all,

looking for live game tips with starting stack 2000chips and blinds at 25/50 rising every 30mins until after 1hour you get a 1500add on whether you are out or not and the blinds are at 200/400 when you come back/ get the add on. I have won it before and there are usually 20-30 players, but lately, especially since starting to play online, I have struggled to even make the final table, and am often out before the 1st break (1hour) and come back with 1500chips = 3.75 BB
I also play in a 10000chip deepstack tournament and do well in those.

Live game and online games differ in few things...
For example online games tend to be mre aggressive and rapid than live games...
Also i hear people complaining that cards at online games are pretty dramatic which is very uncommon at live games...I mean the number of badbeats one gets in online games are much higher when compared to live games...
And also i think u just need more time to adjust to this online environment...
Just try to be little more aggressive here...

I play in these casino tournaments in the UK aswell. they have a range of stacks from 3000 - 8000 with buy-in's lookin at from £10 - £30. In these casino tournaments the first two levels are 25/50,50/100 which are 45minute levels. 25minute break then back onto the new 20minute blinds tournament.
The first two levels of this tournament poker are loose + limpy as hell. Some people will play any Ax (weather it's suited or not) and other forms of crap like J7, QT, K9 etc. If some one raises or reraises then u know there holding good hands. Unless there the donkey who likes to raise all the time, even UTG with 59 of hearts. I've tried playin the limpin/call game and it killed my stack.

The problem with these tournaments is that u could sit tight waiting for a premium hand within the first two levels gettin ur moneys worth untill the break and then increase ur aggression to make more chips. But that wont do it. Ur practicaly crippled when 100/200 or 200/400 comes along and u've only got 3-5K in chips.

This one time I was absolute card dead in a tourney filled with a table of limpers. I started off with 6k, my best PP was JJ which I lost to a villain river trips (made a nice fold) and my best A was AQo lol. Made a few steals but by the time the blinds were 300/600 (still 45 players left) my 6K stack had to get shoved in the BB with AKo against another tight mans raise. He went into the tank and decided to call with TT. Good call, game over for me. Ahwell £20 well worth spent? Could of bought some weed with that! LMAO.

Playin the SS shove game is ur only choice when ur down to a M of 10.
To tell ya the truth these small buy-in casino tourneys as jus there for fun IMO. I find it hard to gain a big chip stack unless ur loose and lucky.

Another thoery on this is that the casino will bump up the blind quicker as they want u out of the tourney so u can go play other casino games to waste ur $$$ on. Not me tho since I dont like blackjack or roulette and im not rolled for NL200 i'll usally go home when I loose in these tourneys. I head to the car n drive bk home. (which thank the lord only takes 30minutes)

I somewhat agree with everybody here, the one thing i do when playing in a live tourny, pick out the donk and take advantage. First two or three levels these players are willing to flip, u must have a good hand and theodds are with u. Play ur big hands agressive and be patient. Works just fine for me on line and live.

I have been playing a few small live tournies lately. They are a bit different in structure though. There is usually around 50 - 60 people and we start with a 20k deepstack and 100/200 blinds so we have a lot more to play around with in the early levels. As said earlier in the first 2 or 3 levels everyone just wants to see flops and every second hand has about 5 people that have all just limped in. I prefer to play tight in these early stages but make sure that everyone at your table notices how tight you are playing, it makes it a hell of a lot easier to pick up a few blinds in the 4th or 5th levels as long as your table doesnt get broken up before then.

Once the blinds are getting bigger if you havent managed to double up from someone you really just need to start shoving over limpers and into unopened pots. This is basically where you will win it or lose it, double up and you will make the final table, go bust and your going home. If you have doubled up you will have a fairly decent stack compared to most as at these small live tournies people will let themselves get blinded out before shoving with any two cards...
