So next summer after I get out of school I am planning to give full time live play at my local casino a shot. From what I have seen, most live players make way more mistakes then online players (also they don't have huds or hand histories). It seems to me that live play is much more profitable for a decent player than online--plus I can cash out instantly. Just wondering if anyone on this forum has played full-time or close to it at a live casino at $1/$2 and if so, what their results were. Also if you guys have any tips as to when the most tourists/fish will be at a casino (I'm guessing weekends there are more players, and also if I play late at night when they are tired). Even if I don't make an astounding profit I will enjoy it because I love the game and live play is way more exciting than online. Any tips or suggestions are welcome!

The players arent great but hands/hour are way less so you still need to be very good to make a living

Rake and expenses are higher when playing live plus the aforementioned reduced hands/hour so yeah your win rate needs to be a lot larger live than online.

Best times are when the 'casual' players are most likely to stop in and when the regs are not in. This will depend on what's happening at the casino and the clientele base. Early evening till about 1am will be your peak times on Thu & Fri, then Sat & Sun will depend on what else is going on. Spend time scouting time periods with shorter sessions and try to find a floor person or dealer that doesn't have their head stuck up their a** and get their advice.

Thanks Jilly that is definitely a good idea to scout it out a bit before spending too much money so I can see who is always there.
