At 1/2$ and 2/5$ LIVE cash games what do you consider to be a good (above average)win rate? I am currently a slightly winning player making 9$/hr (+4.5bb/hr) over the course of 200$ since january 1st (which i know is a small sample), but I was just curious to hear peoples thoughts, and what would be a realistic goal to reach playing 1/2 live? and even peoples thoughts on 2/5 live.

As well if anyone would like to have someone to talk poker with I would be more than happy to help. just send me an inbox message.

20-30 1/2 40-80 2/5. Also these are just rough estimates, I would guess places with uncapped buyins hourly would be higher than say a 2/5 game with a capped buy in of 500. If your beating the rake, that should be good, but great players probably can make 20-30 a hour at 1/2, prob 20 for 1/2 and 30 for 1/3.

Lame answer but..it depends. It's difficult to say without knowing the quality of the games you play. For example, the 1/3 game in my area plays really small with a ton of short stacks as well as high rake, so the maximum win rate a player can achieve is going to be significantly smaller than in other cities.

In general if your hourly is 10bb/hr you're doing very well/crushing, but it may be difficult to achieve depending on your normal game conditions.

Anything in the plus column is a good win rate in my opinion.

Let me guess. While playing at pokerstars, you're allin either preflop, on the flop, or by the turn and the guy hits some low percentage miracle card on the river for the win. My personal favorites are when a guy is allin on the flop with no pair, no draw and runners some weird obscure straight or backdoor flush. They don't call that site jokerstars or riverstars for nothing. I stopped playing there years ago. Got tired of the magic show. Started playing elsewhere, where it was a poker game.

I honestly do not play more online cashgame , you start well , won good pots but suddenly starts to come high cards and the flop do you do pair the veses until set, there a player hardly call your all-in , you pay and turn and river u lose all your stk . And always so in online games .

All depends, my dude.. If it's a conistently juicy 500nl game, you can definitely surpass 9bb. It's a bit difficult to give you a definite answer without knowing some variables. I have a few solid years of 300nl and 500nl experience and it was quite easy. 500nl, atleast in Shreveport and Oklahoma, is basically 200nl. Just as easy to beat. You have to be solid and persistent at selecting, obviously. Most of the move up is mind set. Gl, homie.

2 and 5 dollar bets? as in 200nl? buy in with 200 dollars? You do you. I'm not gonna tell you how to play whatsoever. But if you're droppin your whole roll, or even half, you're gonna bust. GL either way bruh

I entered the room to see how the players were in and out on the first hand with QA and just continuing . As I lost I was also trying to get my bankroll . But I could not.

More solid players online. You have to be on your A game at all times online. Leaks and mistakes are exposed more in my opinion. Live if you choose the right games there are a lot more fish and tourist that honestly just can't play what so ever. A lot less 3 betting and very straight forward at the lower levels due to not being very deep. I would say 200-300NL live is like playing the lowest stakes online. Players as a whole aren't as good but there are always sharks where there are fish. Just gotta be on the lookout for them. If you play solid you shouldn't have any trouble.

Live cash is a softer game but you will max see 2500 hands a month if you play alot, where as online cash is fast, tougher game but you are able to see a infinite amount of hands.

1. you can play only one table LIVE,
2. sometimes its difficult to hide emotions when u play LIVE (tels)
3. you cant use HUDs which u r using to use online,
4. your opp can beat you after the game! :D

imo thats enough to describe differents between offline and online poker/

Who is LIVE regular? everyone who play regulars and make money for live.

I'm a live regular and make money but I don't play for a living. I have another job. Live players in general lack fundamentals. Good online players are at an advantage in that spot. Where live players have the upper hand are emotions and tells. Depending on the level of players obviously. Also many online players get impatient because you are only playing one hand and if you fold could be five minutes before you see the next one. The only way to find out is take a shot play the lowest stakes 200NL or 300NL. Then adjust your game accordingly.

In live poker, I think that a win rate as high as 30bb/100 is attainable (this might sound insane to online players, but the competition at a casino is sometimes that bad).

If you see 30-35 hands per hour, then a 30bb/100 win rate equates to about 10bb/hour. A 10bb/hour win rate equates to $20/hour at $1/$2 and $50/hour at $2/$5.

That's assuming that you're crushing the games. If you're a winning player but you're not absolutely destroying the games, then I'd probably divide that win rate by 3.

I am currently beating 1/2 for 9.12 bb/hr 36.48 bb/100. This is in tougher than avg games as there are a lot of decent to good regs in my room and I can only game select on Fridays and Saturdays.
