This game plays huge and crazy! The big stacks never let you breathe...

They're constantly in a "buy-in pissing contest." One will buy-in for $3000, the next will make it $5000, and the next will buy-in $8000! Ridiculous. Blinds might as well be .01/.02-- Why am I sitting in this? I sit down w/ $2500 (4 plrs. have less than me).

Table consists of 2 pros (yes... winners ZACH :) ), 5 loose gamblers, older weakie, and ME (not a NL pro, nor a loose gambler).

Villain will play all types of different hands from all positions (not one of the pros, as you'll see).

Before I could even take my chips out of the racks, this happenend:

Limp, limp, I raise $65 LP w/ AsKc. Blinds fold, limpers call.

FLOP ($210... 3plrs)
Ks,10s,9s

Limper1 pushes $3500!!!! HAS ME COVERED! Limper2 folds, I...

What's this supposed to mean? I realize people win at these stakes, people win online at $25/$50.

hmm, unknown I muck immediately, it's bad enough to stack 100 big blinds deep with TPTK, but when first off the board is this wet, second off you're not against the nut draw, I figure you're up against sets/flushes if this guy is at all competent. Now if he's wild and crazy and this could easily be a bluff, I think this is actually an easy call. Even if he does have a set or made flush (we'd rather the made flush, because a set we have to hit the spade AND not have the board pair) we've got outs and we are far ahead if this is a bluff.

Guess it would depend on his read. His ability (although he's bad if he has this "ability") to open shove a complete bluff would make it an easy call, just because most draws will be pretty much drawing dead and as mentioned you have outs against the flushes and sets. But if you just sat down and aren't completely familiar with this guy's game, I'd muck. Stacks are deep, if they're that crazy you'll be able to wait for a chance when you do have a strong hand like a set.

Depends entirely on whether Limper 1 is one of the loose gambling types or one of the more kosher players.

Zach does have a point, the fact that you've got the ace of spades makes it less likely that this is a draw - I'd actually be most worried about something like QJ having flopped a straight on you, though a 99 / TT set is also a possibility. You're obv. behind AA and KK as well, but they've played them very slowly if that's what they have, and I think that makes them less likely.

So you're behind those hands and not getting a good price to chase the flush. Also, if you're up against a set, then if the board pairs your draw won't be any good anyway.

The stuff you're ahead of is basically all screwy nonsense - something like KQ / KJ / QT that's hit a pair and a gutshot draw with the Q / J of spades to back it up might do this, maybe, and a crazy bluff might do it too.

Still, having said all that, I know if I were sitting at the table I'd have a really hard time throwing this hand away.

If it's one of the crazy gamblers, I call. If it's a kosher player, I probably tank for a minute or two then fold, and hate myself for doing it.

Zach, I was joking... because of our little back-n-forth in the past "Professional" post.

Wheeeww... where do I start? I'll try to paint the best picture I can of what happened:

This guy has played a lot of Limit w/ me, and knows I'm very tight, and don't get out of line too much (that he knows of :) ) So, my initial thinking was that he thought I was going to be weak/tight in this game. That kind of thinking of me almost made me insta-call his flop push. Then I called, "time," and took a few minutes to try and put him on a hand vs. what he thought I would be playing.

The three hands I'm really worried about are QJ (flopped str8), 99 (set), 10's (set). I think I'd call if I could eliminate those hands, somehow. What's he thinking?

1) He knows I have a big hand, which could mean he WANTS me to call, knowing where I am... which was actually weighing me to a fold.

2) He knows I have a big hand, and overbets the pot to simply get me off my hand (unless I had KK). Even if I had AA, he knows I can find a fold.

A minute into my "time-out," where I had pretty much decided to fold... he started to talk to me. BIG MISTAKE!!!! He was taunting me: "You can't call w/ your Aces or AK... I got you beat. You're probably close to dead." (you ready for this next brilliant move of his???)

HE SHOWED ME ONE CARD (can do this HU, cash). HE SHOWED ME A RED K!!!!

He just eliminated every hand I was worried about. Maybe he has K,10... so what...

"I CALL" :D

He almost fell out of his chair! I knew I had him before he even turned over his hand, which he didn't have to... but the table was going crazy by this time, and kinda made him. He flipped KhQs.

Turn brick, river brick. MY HAND GOOOOOD!
