Leading on from a thought I had when posting in my other thread. I would like to get an idea of the kind of garbage people are likely to open shove with when they get down to 50, 40, 30, 20 bbs.

Ideas?

Are they buying in short or just got pushed down to short? Either way they are fish, but that is a big determination regardless of how many BB's. Check their VPIP/PFR. If they are ~10/10 or so which I see often, then they will probably be on TT+, AK. Better off just folding anything that isn't beating that range(you know what that means).

If they just been spazzy as hell, anything over like 40/30 then there is a good chance that they could just have two paint cards, you see that often. I wouldn't take into consideration that they are in a hurry to leave the game because that doesn't play into this at all unless they said in the chat something like they are leaving in 10 minutes.

Somebody who open shoves with 50 BBs is probably in a hurry to leave the game, so any two cards:)

not necessarily true. At the micros there are lots of 5/5 guys who play a 40bb auto top up game and who wait got JJ+, AK and just shove.

If they are gonna leave they can just leave, right?
Nope, the only way you can leave the table is by shoving all-in ;)

He probably thinks that this is the reason because of short-stackers that hit and run.

Yes and no luckychippy, it will apply for some one like phil helmuth who considers his cash games like mini tournaments, but won't apply for standart shortstackers who join the table. Shortstackers are trying to make money out of the people who uses those probabilities into calling small BB stacks. Expect their range to be tighter than yours.

Unless you have multiple complete calling stations at your table, doing this drops your value that you're getting for AA. If you just make standard raises, you will still get those fish to call and possibly put more money in the pot once they carry on the hand. Open shoving AA is basically a cowards way to play it. I've seen people on here say that they do it because they don't want some fish to call and then out flop them... I won't even go into how stupid that statement is, but the fact is you need to bet to get value, and open shoving AA does not get any value.
