Hi guys,
I'v tried a fair few cash games, mainly no'limit but tried out limit the other night. What's the basic strategy with limit? I ask because it's all to easy for someone to call a raise holding nothing but a high card and hoping to hit on the turn/river..It's actually very hard to push out any of the players at a table even if it's paired or flush/straight draw board. Seems they just keep calling regardless. They get lucky too a few times with Ace/king rag or whatever. Crazy..
It just seems raising and just keep pushing and eventually you are paid of with a better hand. I notice even when i raised pre-flop at a 9 table with pocket aces and pocket kings they always get called by the majority of players and even possibly raised. Flop comes, nothing dangerous and i raised to be called and again right down to the river and my kings and aces held to luckily win agaisn't 4 opponents at times.. The point is, how can you not win at limit because you're going to win a pot at some point and would put your previous losses at an even keel. Not much skill involved at limit games or what? I know at micro limits even in no limit you might get called of a big bet because that's what people do at micros but at least some people think "hm, i'v got nothing can't really call this" at limit it seems a case of "I've got 10-1 odds to call here, may as well" Odds are always going to be good in limit hold em arent they?
I'm temped to try out a tournament but feel these would run for soooo long it would become a drag. Even if you just called all day with every hand it would take a while before you get knocked out and eventually your going to pull of a big pot with your winning hand..
Any tips/advice would be great, thanks.
