Hi CC,

Firstly, I wouldn't say I'm a terrible player but I also wouldn't say that I am crushing 25NL Zoom on Stars. I've worked my way up from 2NL and have been up-and-down between 16NL and 50NL in the past few months. The swings have probably been a lot more to do with tilt rather than variance. I plan on using this thread to track my progress of my goals for 2014 and to ensure that I am keeping on track of those goals! glglgl

I am working through Janda's book and just built out a ton of PF ranges based on some of his suggestions so hopefully that will help my game as well :)

I think its good to write down goals so that you can have something to look back on so here we go!

Poker Goals
- Achieve Supernova (gotta do the math on this)
- 50K+ hands a month
- Dont move up from 25NL Zoom until I have a 3BB/100 WR over at least 100k Hands

Personal Fitness & School
- Gym 4 x a week
- Run 3 x a week
- Actually go to rugby training
- Graduate w Honours and get a Minor

Mental Game & Session Review
- Rank my mental game and tactical game from A to C
- I dont check monthly results until the end of the month but I am going to stop mashing the refresh button on PT4

I also have made a list of "rules" for myself that I keep by my comp. These are pretty simple stuff but I think a lot of ppl overlook them.

thanks for the support :)

changed my post-flop preset bet sizes so that im force to bet larger OTR. I think i should be betting a lot large on every street.

Hand 1 - I think bet sizing OTT should be like $4 considering I crush him. Im v-betting vs A8/AQ/AJ and if he has KT well then gg i suppose.

I like river sizing but i guess i could go like $10?

Hand 2

vs a losing player. Only 43 hands but button RFI is 40% and. This is a hand I like to 3bet bluff from blinds.

OTF - too dry so cant really bet for value. I think I can x/c here
OTT - still pretty dry but when he bets Im kind of confused cause its so large. hes either got air trying to get me to fold Ax (like some kind of broadway), 66 or a FD. guess he can have like 87 as well
OTR - I suppose sometime he can have straight he but i dont think its very likely. I dont expect him to do this w Kx so I think its missed FD or 66

Thoughts?

HAND 1

I think you can probably 3bet preflop. UTG seems to be raising a bit widely. JJ certainly has great equity against his PFR range.

I like every other street.

HAND 2

I'm no 6max expert, but I'd say fold pre. K4s is basically trash. Unless you have some sort of read on BTN (like postflop bet sizing), you'll be OOP with a bad hand.

I think 3betting preflop is a pretty massive mistake most players would make here. If you're 3betting here, your turning JJ into a bluff as im pretty sure if he 4bets, we have to fold. Even vs a fish.

His PFR is 43/29 but his UTG RFI is 44% (4/9) so I dont think hes going crazy.

Hand 2

I somewhat agree w you. like I actually dont think its a 3bet pre now just looking back esp v unknown but i was more posting for as played.

I have a pretty wide range in this spot and dont think K4s is great as there are a lot of other hands id prefer to 3bet with.

Probably b/f this flop. I don't think he really raises here with worse often enough for calling a re raise to be profitable. We are out of position and calling a re raise puts us in awkward spots on like every turn

Yeah I think I like check-calling that flop. Think I end up folding a lot of turns though...

I dont know why this game is so hard for me..

This hand is vs a fish. I hardly ever this he has 6x in his range but JT def smacks it. Not sure if he raises flop w his draws or just calls down. I just decided to v-bet three streeets but dont know why i bet so much OTT.

How would you play this? x/c turn?

I prolly bet 1/2 on turn and x/c a reasonable river bet here to let him fire any missed draws.
