Slowly beginning to move to cash game play from sng''s. I'd really appreciate some suggestions for resources/books that would help develop more understanding about the basics plus. Books are my favorite but I'll take a look at anything suggested.

Are Harrington's cash game books recommended? I have the ones for sng's and like them. In addition, though, I like something that gives different perspectives, too.

Thanks.

No.

Harrington's Tourney books are good, even for the basics for cash games. But the cash game books aren't nearly as useful.

I don't know of any really good cash game books; maybe from Ed Miller, though I don't have it so I can't give a recommendation. But don't get the Harrington ones just because his tourney ones are great.

I though Harrington's cash games books were worth the read. If anything just gives you something to think about.

Professional No Limit is good.

I found Ryan Fee's 6max Guide to be pretty decent.

To get started, check out the stickys here on Cardschat.

I have the Harrington cash books but they're not nearly as good as the tourney ones (which I also own).

But if you have the basics down from the tourney series, then 1) hand analysis in forums with 2) videos from here or the training sites are the best sources, imho. Plus sources like PO's link above.

Poker_Orifice... I particularly like the link for micro stakes full ring guide which I've printed. My computer seems to be dying and I imagine I'll be out of game for a while and studying, studying. Anything I can print immediately is terrific...so thanks for this.

If anyone else can send me to any other sites or links, I'd appreciate that, too. Books will take a few days to acquire. I set aside several hours of poker a day and if my computer does indeed die, I'd like some stuff in front of me until then.

Thanks, all.

Cash Game Killer is probably one of the best resources around for to cover the whole cash game strategy. It comes in PDF form... if you interest in it... I can point you in the direction.

After quitting cash games in November, I've read many books to analyze my hands and start studying. While playing sngs and tourneys for first half of this year, I decided to tackle 5NL starting July and apply the stuff I've learned. Some of great books I've read for cash games are

Small Stakes No Limit Hold'em by Ed Miller, Sunny Mehta, and Matt Flynn
Treat Your Poker Like a Business by Dusty Schmidt(Leatherass9)

There are many great books out there but these are really good ones that fixed lot of my major leaks.
