I`m new but starting to understand
I would suggest a few things depend on this, as Chuck says.
Do u want to win the tourny? Is the guy going all in the short or largest stack? Does he normally play v tight? Is the position u r in at the moment gonna win u decent amount? etc, etc.
Another point to remember here is if u go with him u will have to go with the cards - he is definatly pot committed!!!
I think I`m right in saying AK is only a bad all in call against AA or KK. QQ, JJ, 1010 puts u as a slight dog, but no more than about 55% TO 45% in the other guys favour - so about even money.
If u want my personal opinion, I always play more aggresivly with AK than I do with AA or KK. I take a chance, even in latter stages of tourny. Therefore, I might have gone all in pre flop. That way, u will find out if he`s bluffing
, but at least the ball is in his court.
So, in summary, I would have gone all in and if he had AA, KK unlucky, if he had QQ, JJ, etc I still have a chance. If he has AQ, AJ, etc, I`m laughing!!! (until after the river, that is!!!)
I would be interested to hear what the other guys think about what I have said.
Also, what did happen???
