I am wore out with these FR on Tilt (2700) and have decided to put money on to Tilt. I was thinking of just doing the 50$ for now and using C.Fergusons rules of bankroll managment of 5% on SNG and 2% on MTT. 1 example he gave was 100x the bb and another exp. showed 50x bb not sure how they come to this conclusion. Anyone with insite on this would be appreciated.:joyman:

It's based on an 'average' of what works for maintaining a bankroll without facing bankruptcy taking swings and variance into account.

2% on MTT's. - Large fields, % of times ITM will be lower, requiring more MTT's played to stay afloat.

5% SnG's - Smaller fields, a few 180-360, but mostly 90 players or less. You should be able to make it ITM a higher % of the time.

100BB - no limit ring games, the 100x is to buy-in to ONE session. That does not mean you enter one session with 100BB as your total BR.

50BB is the standard top end of buy-ins for limit ring games. Again, does not mean that is your total BR.

I look in to the free $50 thanks. Math is always my weak point, I can do math but on impulse in online poker I have to rely more on betting patterns alot because I am slow. Could be all the years of smokin pot.
At any rate I'm checkin for threads on just that if yall have any suggestions. I mean like in archives or anything I've seen any on the main page. Thanks for ur input as well Nick.

i think you must have atleast 100 buyins for sngs/mtts and over 200 buyins for cash games to play the game safely

I think it s a bit to more , you don t need that much buyins for cash game, for mtt 100 is ok but for sng i table and cash game, it s enough to 40 or 50 buyin if you lose that much in a row you should think about go back read a book or two plus the strategy guide of the site.

i would suggest you to play a single type of game first, i.e. NLHE, FLHE, PLHE, omaha...etc. read and study the game to check what is the best
strategy that works for you together with the BR management.

im sure you'll not even notice you are already climbing up the graphs... cheers!!!

So 2% of your roll is? Your bankroll divided by..what number?
Same goes for 5%, and 10%?
I am pretty sure 5% is your bankroll divided by 20
The others I am not sure about

1%= 1/100th, so to get 1% divide you bankroll by 100. Then 5% is that number x 5, 2% is that number x2 etc.........
