Used to play live, but got ran over twice this weekend and don't feel like buying in for $200 a pop live anymore. So gonna try some online. Lost $200 in 2 months online, calling SC / trash OOP, on tilt, all in ppl with KK but turns out they have AA... etc.

Anyways, I'm looking for some help, I just tried some 0.05NL 6 max, and found it's quite easier to play than full ring because chances of KK running into AA is alot less.

I know the basics of, dont chase draws unless you got the right pot odds, value 40-70% of your top pair or better hands every street, re-raise on button or SB to steal blinds with marginal hands. People rarely bluff, so when they bet, they usually have it, even though its hard to believe sometimes when flop is paired board, and I just assume they have ace high.

How should I use this $200 to start profiting. Seems like I would need to run 2-4 tables to start out.

Are there any free HUDS? seems like its $150 to purchase one. How do I just track and convert hands from pokerstars?

Any tips would be much appreciated.

There are free HUDs but they aren't as good, Draza has been using one so post in his thread in BBC.

Pokertracker 4 micro version is $55, not $150, and that will do you for now as you can play up to 25nl (or 50nl?) with it.

use the one month free trial period for HEM2 and PT4 and towards the end you'll know which one you prefer the most. Start at 2nl , get used to multitabling and using your HUD and if your poker is sound you'll blast through 2nl in no time at all.

the HUDs have options to get them free via their sites signup but you have to balance that against signing up at rooms via cardschat and gaining access to the freerolls and value added promotions. The HUd sites is a one off up front benefit, the freerolls/site promos could be a lifetime of value that dwarfs the initial value of the free hud + you ony get the free HUD by raking x amount first.

You might consider starting with ONE table and work your way slowly up from there... From what you describe I assume that almost everyone will guarantee that 3 or 4 for a start tables will not help you to become a winning player.
Play. study, play, study, play and study some more. This forum is a great place to learn and share. Good luck!

Yeah HUDs are not that expensive (I paid 60$ for HM2 Small Stakes and am still using it, meaning I am not above 50NL) and you can always rotate trial versions. Frankly I think it is better to just buy one of them and forget about it. I can't compare them but I am sure there are people who have tried both.

It is generally considered that FR is easier than 6max but it may depend on the individual (what suits you most).

I would recommend taking it easy at first, online is different than live (much quicker, better players on average):
- One table for a predetermined time period or amount of hands and if your win rate is >0 then you can add another table etc.

The idea is to adjust to online play and not overextend yourself especially if you are close to beginner level (which seems to be the case, no offense meant).

re-raise on button or SB to steal blinds with marginal hands.
Not a great idea from the SB at the micros where calling too wide after entering pots is a common leak for opponents to have. Playing inflated pots OOP with marginal hands isn't a great strategy, even against poor opponents.

As long as the amount of tables you are playing allows you enough time to make the best decisions you are capable of then that's fine. Starting out with 1 or 2 seems about right.

Learn to value bet, and try to target villain tendencies. Fold too much? Open wider and bluff a little more. Call too much? Value bet thinner, and bluff less (or not at all). That sorta thing.
