Hi, so i've always been under the impression that you should iso raise very wide IP. So when you've got fish that dont fold to cbets how are we supposed to make money off these guys? They dont fold to the raise and dont fold to cbet bluffs. Now some may say only bet for vaue but as your raising very wide they may have the better hand more often. I dont want to barrel again with air as that too to my understanding vs fish, What do you guys think?

A Fish is Fish and a Calling Station is a Calling Station. Some Fish are Calling Stations and some Calling Sations are Fish.
You need to know what you're dealing with before you iso raise.

If the villain is a Calling Station then you need a good hand, so no light raises cos you should expect to be going to showdown more often than not. Isolate with good PP and good Aces

If the villain is a Fish and you don't regard them as a Calling Station (i.e. they call light and fold often to raises) then you can widen you range (or polarize).
Isolate wider IP

Terrific analysis from enolan above. MicroStakes should be called LimpLand; everybody wants to see a cheap flop...

I'm careful not to ISO raise too far from the button with anything less than the top of my range as I'm likely to have loose callers behind me. I find it difficult to continue without a big pair or a big draw post flop, so position is very important (as always.) Of course, I do need to throw in the occasional small pair or suited connector ISO raise from early position to balance my range a little, but let's face it: not many folks at microstakes are paying attention to my range.

Trying to isolate in a game where players do not fold.....see image

Just flat call with your broadways/small pps/suited cons in position and use your better post flop ability to take their money in the long run. Why bloat the pot with a marginal hand where they are probably not folding?

I think everyone folds , even the biggest calling stations fold from time to time , sometimes your hand just suck and you have to fold , limpers have way too much trash in their ranges , if they dont fold on flop then you may want to barrel them off , assuming you are incapable to do this and they play back to you too often then you may want to stick to good hands and isolate with them only.

I so hate it when regs make ridiculous isolation raises to uber fish with marginal hands and I have to fold my decent hands in the blinds. These regs are not only losing money themselves by doing that but also costing other regs potential money.

get a feel for around how large a raise you need by looking at what happens when somebody (anybody) raises to a certain size. realize that a lot of players will play the same in any position because they don't understand position, so they will call raises the same. This varies from group to group a bit, and definitely based on what blinds you play. near the bottom of the barrel that often means 6+ BB raises, as I have found my 4BB raises and lower are often called by half the table. Don't go too stupid with it though.

The really fun ones are when you are on the button and everyone on the table has limped to you. *headache*

I was about to say this LOL>

Not too many microstake players pay attention to range balancing. Glad you mentioned that part haha

Simple, then isolate with very good hands like premiums.

High percentage, you will win showdown with fish.

Its a good default to try isolating in position but if the table is telling you its not going to work then its not going to work. You need to change it up and adapt!

Yeah if you can't isolate calling stations just limp behind with good speculative hands (Low pocket pairs / Suited connectors / Ace rag suited).
