Iron man chip = lots of hands. It doesn't show that you are TAG, or LAG, or loose passive with lots of cash, or an SNG player, or a cash game player. There are plenty of tools online to tell others those things. In higher stakes, where people probably know you anyways, the chip won't do anything. In middle stakes, they won't be able to read your play, but they might give you some credit as a solid winning player. So why not?
*I should point out that I consider the advantages gained by the chip, combined with a solid table image over a few rotations, as outweighing those gained by not wearing it and at first perhaps coming on as a fish. If you come on as a fish, you are going to need a big hand quick to capitalize before they realize you are solid. My approach is for the longer games, and I think it can maybe buy you a
bluff or two in the first two or three rotations rather than a quick double up in five hands if you are lucky.
