Hi all.

I've been playing a lot recently at the local casino, mostly $1/$2 NL with a buyin of $300 max. Now, I have never played at any other place live and am wondering what the initial raises are in the places you people have played.

For example, yesterday the initial raises were from $12-$27. At a $1/$2 table. I have played $2/$5 at the same casino and the initial raises there seldom went over $15 so I'm a little confused when people raise so much.

So, what are the general raising patterns at your local casinos for $1/$2 NL?

I usually see raises from 6-12 in 1/2. Many players seem to raise more for stronger hands. I'm always thankful for their tell as I fold my trash.

Depends on the players in the game. My $200NLH game will often have preflop raises in the $17-$22 range. Adjusting to the table dynamics can be stressful.

less than the usual rate for a large amount of players can raise rates . so the more the rise of the stronger hand .

I'd say from watching the table, when you do get to the point where you see the cards, the larger the raise then it's generally pocket JJ or 10/10. Something in that range. If they have a higher hand they play to win more money. I guess they figure $3 is all pocket jacks are worth to win.

Usually when I play 1/2 NL cash, the raises are more often $8-$12 than $4-$6. It's probably because a lot of fish play $1-$2 NL and they want to get them out of the hand as much as possible (at least until they have enough information on the player).

When I get the chance to play 1/2 NL live, table raises are usually in the 8-12 range. I still only raise 3x if I am the first one to raise. I also see a ton of limp/callers at my tables (I can only play in the summer due to my location). It totally kills my stronger hands....I've learned that a simple tight-aggressive style against these players is best. It takes a lot of patience. Or, see if you can get away with limping a lot of mediocre hands and get lucky. Not the best strategy, imo.

I think depend form how deep are stacks, becouse 300byun are 150bb and if there is a lot off rebuay at the table.
Also off the oponent is there fish on the table likes calling pre folding on the flop def raise bigger is better.
