I am tossing the idea around of writing a program to essentially replicate and improve upon the analysis features of HEM/PT. It would take an existing database and provide an interface which is both easy to use and easily customizable which would allow you to analyze your results and run various filters, reports, graphs, etc.

So basically I want to know what you don't like about the current tools that exist. What would you like to see improved upon? What do you like about the current tools?

I've a few ideas.

*A dedicated tab for tracking live play. I know you can just throw your live winnings in to bonuses but a separate graph and a place to put in details on your live play would be great.

*PT2s old feature of being able to make notes on hands.

*Multiple player tags: I use the notes symbols on HEM to signify what the notes about, however once I've more than one note this system breaks down, being able to tag a player with multiple symbols and perhaps clicking on that symbol bringing you to the relevant subset of notes made under that symbol would be great. Having paragraphs of notes on regs is horrible sometimes.

*Easy disabling of results or dollars that doesn't hinder reviewing last sessions hands.

*More rakeback stats than a mere rake$ and VPPs. VPP/hr, rakeback$/hr, maybe a built in rakeback calculator made specificly for your play and hands/hr where you can edit stakes and tables.

Maybe it's a bit off the beaten path but a built in winrate confidence interval graph like the one evplusplus.com used to have would be good.

Thanks for the suggestions, to clarify though I don't think we would include a hud, it wouldn't be meant to replace a tracker, more of an additional analysis tool to be used to improve your own game, analyze/break down/figure out how to exploit other player's games, and to analyze your own results. I initially was considering making it a completely new tracker to basically compete with hem/pt but I just think the amount of time/money it would cost would not be worth it when all we're doing is replicating something already done reasonably well.

I do really like the idea of the confidence interval on the graph as well it's something that would be pretty simple to do and honestly I'm surprised the existing software doesn't have something like that already. I mean just like there's an AIEV line we could easily include an upper and lower bound for confidence interval lines on any graph as well. Other ideas are definitely solid as well, thanks!

Sounds like a major undertaking, and their are several programs that already have footing in the market. I would look at Pokertracker 4 for inspiration and to see what your up against.
I wish you the best of luck on your project.

HackMePlz,

What I dont like about PT4 is how I have to search for hands by session. Would be so sick to just have like all hands combined in one area. Kind of like the section that is for Todays Hands but for all hands.

I think a lot of ppl would benefit from having basic preset filters as well. Like PT4 is super easy to use but a lot of the time I end up questioning if the filter is right. Standard ones would be easy like called in BB/SB vs LP opens. 3bets vs steals.

Also would be cool to be able to filter on player types or like stats. For example, then you could filter on what hands and your winrate vs a person who folds to 70% 3bets.

Lastly, this is something that I would love and havent found anything but having number to compare off of. For instance, I was looking at a specific filter the other day which showed me I wasn't winning enough in some spots but it would be nice to have a bb/100 to compare to for say the average winning player or just a solid winrate in spots. Plus I see that all over forums.. "is 5bb/100 good here?". Would also be nice if you had numbers to compare to for preset filters.

Let me know if that doesnt make sense and Ill reply again Im exhausted lol

Ye that'd be good. Would require access to a lot of data though.

Also been thinking I used to use those confidence interval calculators for each filter I made to test if it's anywhere near convergence. Would be an easy thing to add automaticly to each filter so you can instantly know not only how your winrate in a certain spot compares but if the sample on the filter is converged.

In my experience of running filters then using confidence intervals most filters people use to measure how well they do in a specific spot don't come close to being converged.

In. Gotta +1 the confidence interval for win-rate.
