For the love of god RAISE. I see so many people who raise a quarter or some other rather low amount. Only to end up having their quality hand beat. I know this because I am guilty at times in tournaments. It is a problem I am working on rectifying.

This is an open admission of guilt. Now if only I could take and USE my own advice, I might do better LOL.

the thing with raising is

-you dont want to raise to little and get assed out
and
-you dont want to raise to much and not get action

IMO depending on players and position i like to open up in early postion by raising 3x-4x the blinds. and then in late raising it 6x the blinds or the pot if its big enough.

yeah I'm still learning from my mistakes on that too. I agree that if you're going to raise a pot do it some force...at least make you opponent think he's beat.

Yes good post. Raising is awesome. Be cautious, of course. But aggresive is alwayz intimidating. When someone thinks ur playing aggresive, tehy get scared and it'll be eaier to bluff. Many ups and downs of raisng that could be put into a post that exceeds the imagination...but instead of breaking the keys on my keyboard.....ill just say this...RAISE....lol jk play smart n play aggresive

You have to think about it. Do you want the guy to call you and gamble or do you want to take the pot right there. When you answer that question then you can decide how to play the hand.
