dont know if this is a bad beat or badly played or what.
.50/1$ nl holdem!
Player from early pos raises 2 bigs player next to him calls villian from mid pos calls i with AJ offsuit call from SB!
So 4 way to the flop!
I have 110$ stack villian in mid pos has 105$ stack.
Flop comes A J 2 rainbow.
Giving me top two so i check from sb early pos checks villian from mid pos bets 5$ into pot of 10$.
Action folds to me i raised 90$.
I tried to play it very fast and opponent was a loosr passive fish.
He calls we both have less than 10$ left.
Turn is 4.
He shoves the remaining and shows 44!!!
What the helllll!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow that sounds like a very fishy table! Bad beats like that are unfortunately extremely common in such low stakes online. As for the post flop call of 90$? That is extremely unlucky for you that he hit a two outer. But 90 dollars is a huge over bet after the flop with only 15 dollars in the pot at that point. Why did you make such a huge overbet?

Because player was a calling station.
Proper fish!

He had a backdoor straight draw... just kidding. Things like this have have happened to me when I overbet the pot on the flop and have some call and hit a 2 outer. It is tough to not go on tilt when someone had no business even thinking about calling and they hit. Better luck.

Yes, you are not lucky with this hand, maybe it's just a piece of money with a lot of money that does not know where to put them, and maybe a bot ..

Not a bot i doubt...a bot wouldve gone through the motions and got you all in on the flop i think.

Raising so large there and getting called really begs the question - even if they are a HUGE fish - would they really call you with worse? Oviously in this case the answer is yes but they could have easily flopped bottom set and done this much the same way.

The player may have just been so bad and thought in his mind you were only betting to push him out of the pot so he called out of spite and got lucky.

At the end of the day fish get lucky, it happens - the good thing is if he is playing that loose you can certainly win it all back.

In the end i think you were just facing a massive non folding fish and you overplayed your hand - he got lucky and stacked you. I think you possibly could have lost much less in this hand but maybe not.

Good luck in future games

It's just the best type of punishment you can get for over betting the two top pair so what if he had already a set of deuces on this flop would it change if hit the set on turn or flop you played the right decision preflop for not betting AJ offsuit but you exagerated the bet for 2 pairs whenever you have a good hand try to analyze what ha,ds beat you and why your opponent played Limping/Big Raises analyze and try to find out why everyone limped for example it should be quit sure that one of the early limpers played a small pair which could be lower than 99 to see if they hit their set for cheap

If you feel angry after one bad beat it means you have mindset problem or playing to high. The fish took, the fish will give you back ;)

I wouldn't have flatted with AJ from SB, prefer a sized up 3bet here to push out some hands and maybe see a flop HU. Also the raise on the flop ???? You honestly lost me there. Just shove or make a normal raise.

Overall, lost a blown up pot to a fish. It happens to the best of us unfortunately :(

The result is certainly sad, but realizing that this player will meet in the future at the tables you can rejoice. Here it is a long-awaited fish.

sick beat. it happens many times in the game. if you are stars be careful in playing AJ I loose with AJ 95% of times. I do not know if its same for all other players. in your style also why raise 90$ and leave $10 back, my question is
- you just wan to show your are bluffing?
- or you are judging the villain have nothing and you expect him to call with nothing?
- or since you seem to know he is fish?
- or he could have any card better than you. I do not know what to recommend since I am not a pro. but its really bad move from your side too.

The title of this thread shocked me. I thought a man wanted to end his life. Good thing that's not true. In one free day I took the cards and began to look at what happens if I play for all 9 participants alone. I spent two hours on that. I didn't have a random number generator from anyone. I dealt cards myself. I saw an amazing thing during these two hours. TT and 89 won in most cases. Most bad luck with the AK and AJ.

I will only say that it's poker , nothing is certain and everything can happen
for this I think online poker is a very difficult game for profit

that happens when people do not have to invest a lot no matter the flop they blind themselves with the pair in hand if it were a 30usd tournament there if they thought

I think bot!
A bot would probably have folded.
Your overbet may have been interpreted as bluff, with 2 more cards to come.
Your play with these fish is profitable in the long run: keep going all-in with 2pair.
Against better players you'll need to switch to more value bets.
Conclusion: bad luck, shit happens

  • i struggle as well when i play small stakes... people will just call you down with whatever, i find that the lower the stakes the more "straight up" i play, you aren't going to bluff a calling station, and if somebody goes crazy betting for what appears to be no reason, they probably have a weirdo hit my card reason.
