I bought in on silversands with R50, went down to around R12, and then eventually over a period of 3 days worked my way up t R280..

i moved up to the next level which was 50c/R1 so i had more or less 300 times big blind, not a bad move...

Anyhow, i played a couple of hands and won some lost some, eventually i get dealt AK, i raise to 5x bb, in a very late position with EVERYONE flat calling, i needed to get them out the pot, i only got 1 caller, flop came

AK 3, he pushed all in, ive never been in a pot with this guys before...

is this a complete steal or not?

his all in had me covered..
I called..

what do you think the outcome was and what would you have done in this situation

Think I would have done the same :/

i think i should have just given it up, in the long run it doesnt pay off.. i would only have lost R2 even if i was laying down the best hand...

in what universe is that not a bad move ????

This is super terrible bankroll management. You would need to be exceedingly lucky in order not to go busto doing this.

i always thought 300 times the big blind was an oke time to move up...
what do you recommend?

it's ok when you play limit. When you play no-limit, 30 buy-ins would be more like it. That's 3000 big blinds.

Winning players often have losing streaks of 5 or 10 buy-ins that are purely bad luck and not bad play. If you can't handle those swings, you will go busto sooner or later.

Yeh, exactly. 300bb is good for limit, not NL. I would've said 20 buyins for an NL game, but more doesn't ever hurt.
