i played live cash $1/$2 last night and raised to $20 with pocket kings and everyone folded.

this was my second time in AC and the whole ride there i convinced myself to play big hands super aggressively. it won me lots of money last time, but was this too much?

i felt like kgb, "should have paid me off on dat"

was this a dead giveaway that im holding aces or kings?

Not a dead give away but you did raise too much. When I play 1/2 my standard raise is around $10+2$per limper

How many hands had you played at the table? If it was the firts few orbits and you hadn't played much then this size of a bet would signal a big hand to me (TT+). Your bet sizing in live $1/$2 really depends on the way the table is playing, your position and the players behind.

exactly... late night after many people have been drinking, $20 may be standard; in other nitty games, $7 may be standard

Adapt to the table, just see what the highest raise would opp call with some kind of connected suiters or just a pair. If you dont know I would say standart is 4x(when nobody limps in) but if its deep stacks raise more maybe. 10x raise is way too much if you been raising just 4x and playing pretty tight then baaam a 10x raise. People definately realise that something wrong is going on. Of course if there is some drunk idiots, raise even more. :D I mean if you arent capable of giving up aces and spotting some big hand, then you just may steal those blinds with 10x raise or get called by JJ KK QQ or raised for sure.

10x bb without a raiser before you would set alarms off on tables I play.

Better to raise too much than too little.

True story: My most recent trip to Vegas, first hand I play I get dealt aces UTG+1 (no need to post at this casino, free hand!). Hadn't observed any table dynamics before I sat. Raised it to $10. Got 6 callers. Ending up losing a very large pot.

Sounds like you lost a big pot because of your post flop play. Also, it sounds like you expect to win with AA automatically.

I've won a lot of money off guys that think their AA is indestructible.

My name on here is EmoAA, and it's about how emo people get when they lose with AA and are mad because they assume they should win a huge pot. They either overbet pre and everybody folds and they complain they don't get paid off or the limp in and try to be sneaky and then lose a huge pot and complain about that. It's funny and good for my wallet.
