I believe poker situations have many solutions. If someone disagrees with my position that is cool. I try to learn from the different points of view. As a matter of fact that is why I'm here in the first place.

I do not play poker to prove anything. So, if we disagree here, do not "challenge" me. I have nothing to prove, and do not play to prove anything.

I play for money, nothing more, nothing less.

I'll just keep right on posting, I take away more from this forum than I leave.

Nice post. Its not about who is better than someone else etc, its about how much money you can make from the game

I like playing heads up but to do it to prove that you are better than someone else can put you off your game

I do like heads up though, I have won more than I have lost

I challenge you to a duel! *Slaps with glove*

Umm, anyway, yep - poker should not become a personal duel for whatever reason. I've seen it a few times before - 2 people gunning for each other at a table, and often they both suffer because of it with regards to the quality of their game (and hence financially).

Nothing wrong with a challenge as long as it's in the spirit of competition. I challenged RammerJammer to a heads-up match which he gladly accepted. We would have dueled Tuesday night if we had ever received the password to the table. I love to compete (as long as I can afford the stakes) so a challenge to a friendly game is welcome. To play for spite or revenge is never a good idea and I would avoid this as well...

execllent post bill and I totally agree with you, i learnd that one the hard way and now i never even play at the same table as someone that bears grudges, i feel that i get more and more determined to take their money and push them around that eventually i or them run into the nuts (costing a lot of money and adding to the grudge). Ive seen a game of draw poker come to a huge fight one night both friends of mine about 5 years ago and they still dont speak or play cards for that matter !!

Ya this post is a little touchy feely for me, but I can elaborate. I was in a game, when a good friend walked in. Out of all the tables in the place only on was offering the stakes he was looking for. I happened to be sitting there. He sat on my right. We chatted for a few, and he explained his bankroll was in jepordy. I told him to consider playing lower for the night, but he didn't. His being short definately effected his game, and I found holes. I broke him a few hours later. He stormed off with out saying a word. I called his cell, he told me to F off.

Next, he comes waltzing in looking for a loan to get back in the game. Umm..nope.
So he challenged me to heads up, blah blah whatever. It is awful. He is a decent guy, and a friend.
Then I get home and read a post where a guy is challenging everyone on this board. It got to me a little.
