Hi everyone, first post so please go easy on me .
I just cant get this hand I played out of my head so posting it here may help me move on and forget it!!
Situation was a home game of 9 players. Blinds 0.1-0.2. I was in mid-late position and dealt KK. The play was called to me and I put in a 3x blind raise. The hand was folded until there was three in the pot with me last to act on the flop. Before the flop the guy to act second asked me to ask him what hand he had (which I did) and he told me had AA. The flop came and the guy to act first bet 2.00 which was called by the remaining two. Then the turn and the guy to act first bet out with a 2.00 bet which was again called by both players. The river then put three clubs on the board which was discussed by position 1 and 2 (at this point I knew they were scared of the flush, even though I didnt have it). The betting was checked by all players and then P1 showed 2 pairs, P2 showed AA (sorry I posted the guy had QQ and not AA this is an edit) for 1 pair and I showed KK for 1 pair with the guy in early position and two pairs taking the hand.
Now, Ive been playing for a while now and am so disapointed that I didnt win the hand. The guy telling me he had AA just threw me and I couldnt get over the fact that I was always behind to AA. I am sure that if I bet the river and represented a flush I could have taken the hand down. The three players knew he had AA but early position still bet out post flop so knew he had AA beat, why didnt I realise that? AA was calling and not re-raising but I knew what he had anyway. In late position I could see all this and still didnt THINK and just called and then checked the river.
Anyway, that feels better. At the end of the day knowing one player was on AA which I couldnt beat I should have folded once I knew he had AA. But I didnt and maybe I should have bet the river in an attempt to take down the pot.
All in all a bit of poor play on by me and maybe thats why its annoying me so much.
